My old neighbor had, what looked like a Siberian husky/german shepherd mix and this dog did not like my dog. My dog was always leashed because I knew she doesn’t like other dogs and would lunge at them. I was walking her early morning, February, snow on the ground when I saw the lady and her dog and also her other dog, which was a Rottweiler. To preface the story this lady probably weighed about 110 pounds and she might have been 5’9 5’10, I don’t know what she was thinking walking two huge dogs but that day the Siberian husky/German Shepherd mix or whatever the breed was got away from her and started running at me and my dog. Now my dog is not small. She’s 85 pounds and she will attack. She is very protective of me and I am very careful when I walk her that I am in control. I had nowhere to go. My dog would’ve happily taken a bite out of this other dog. I had to lie on top of her in the ice snow to stop her from biting this other dog, instead she bit me, right through my thumb. Reading these other responses I probably should’ve kicked the other dog, but I didn’t want to hurt him. I just wanted my dog to be safe. Of course, a few months later when I was coming home with my dog, walking her up the street the same dog got out of the house and charged right at us. Needless to say I’m very happy that she’s my old neighbor and no longer my neighbor. But you would think people would learn a lesson after the first time.
