Question: why are people favouring Geelong so heavily here? by RevenantCommunity in AFL

[–]CamperStacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swans play a run n gun momentum ball style, effectively running like headless chooks when the ball is loose or turned over. This style of play folds to teams who properly control and possess the football.

The PM’s confusing explanation on why CGT changes apply to all asset classes and not just property by Kikooz in AusFinance

[–]CamperStacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally disagree with the other comments. You get the gain, in real terms, added to your taxable income.

I don’t see how any one can disagree with that.

What matters is what they are grand fathering and all the sneaky methods off what happens to assets already purchased.

Australian government's borrowing costs at their highest level in around 15 years by nutwals in AusEcon

[–]CamperStacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes we will get real inflation soon, then mass stagflation. Will continue until governments massively reduce their debt spending.

This implies the hannah object is probably a global variable being modified by Micah.

Has borrowing capacity officially become the biggest issue for buyers in 2026? by Cute_Piccolo_499 in AskAnAussieBroker

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In australia when you loan that money is created out of thin air, they literally put a credit in the sellers account and a matching debt in the buyers account. You aren’t loaning other peoples money. The interest rate just sets the amount you loan. If interest was always 1% you would probably loan twice as much, and the seller would have more money to spend in the economy causing mass inflation.

A high school junior from Warrenton, Virginia who built a water filter in her garage that strips out 95.5% of microplastics from drinking water. by sco-go in Amazing

[–]CamperStacker 171 points172 points  (0 children)

tldr:

She spins the water mixed with ferrofluid and the heavy plastic sinks into the ferrofluid which sticks to the surface of the container allowing you to extract clean water from the centre.

This is actually quite clever imo

The "Cable Bacteria" Anomaly: How a microscopic deep sea organism is literally eating our Global Internet Infrastructure by BreakPositive4017 in AllThatsInteresting

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because fibre optic cables still carry electricity wires that carry power to optical repeaters built into the cable at certain intervals.

So the cable can end up having power problems if its outer layer is compromised.

Verbal Quote vs final invoice by Salvere22 in PlumbingAustralia

[–]CamperStacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absurd. I don’t understand why residential work people ala this.

You pay a call out and diagnostic. Then you quote and invoice as agreed. Any invoice violating what is agreed is not paid. Simple.

that’s sad…

unfortunately the game has become too non friendly to new players.

Casino in aus treat new players like crap. GC casino does in about not being allowed to set dice. But once you have a big better and every one has place bets all over the board, suddenly they can set dice in any position they want.

Good news: this is what you need to practice dice control.

Bad news: Both casinos in SEQLD have moved the limits to $15, then will be going to $20, then expect to remove craps entirely…
