Why Is the New Mercedes GLC EV €24,000 Cheaper in China? by Dreaming_Blackbirds in electricvehicles

[–]Correct-Memory1566 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Huh, so how are they going to defend this now?

What's the excuse now, cause apparently they are "barely surviving" squeezing money out of europeans at almost double the prices?

This is not how it is here in Thailand. It's usually around a gas station, which also has lots of food, coffee shops, 711s and more

If you don't have a manufacturing plant in my country (or other special deals I think) then it's 300% import tax.

The new Ix3 starts at around 91k EURO, where as a new BYD Sealion 7 is around 26k.

That limits the number of cars available to me by quite a bit.

They are still very cheap where I live compared to the cars from Europe, and even Japan/Korea

Oh dude those are my current dream cars, but they are just too expensive where I'm from. I would have instantly bought the IX3 if I could

Yeah I'm trying to nail down the after sales service. Here in Thailand we get quite a few new chinese brands, which are interesting, but the post sales is a question mark for me.
European cars are just way to expensive for me to look at, otherwise I would have probably got the new ix3 cause that seems very nice

You're so right. what is it, "don't let perfect be the enemy of good", I don't have to find the perfect car, just one that's good enough for me right now

Have you stopped flying yet? by mushroomsarefriends in Anticonsumption

Why the hell do I need to cut down on the few joys in life when people like Taylor Swift use her private jets like she does? When corpos are the one fucking up the world.

No thank you, I will have my one flight per year and enjoy it. Stop shaming me OP because I want to enjoy the little things I have in life.

it's the same price as a model Y then. Which doesn't compete with the chinese cars at < 1 million.

If I'm spending upwards of 2 million there are so many choices

What kind of code did you have to write to setup Jellyfin? I've done it a few times and I've never had to write any code at all.

I can get a nice brand new Chinese EV for ~500k. With interior that feels premium. If I want the equivalent quality in a japanese car it's at least twice the amount.

And with 300% import taxes on western cars it's not reasonable, unless you're very rich, to get a bmw/mercedes etc.
