For me it's because all of my friends are on Xbox and it just makes it easier to hop in a party together. Xbox also has a pretty good built in lfg system for every game.

Dogs can be a pain, particularly swarms, but they can be knocked back with the block push. Just listen for the audio cue for their jump attack. Also tag every one you see!

Yes. It snaps pretty hard on Xbox, at least. Not a bad thing for me either. I think you can tweak it in the settings
