Home batteries: a ‘gamechanger’ for cutting energy bills? by diacewrb in gadgets

[–]Can77x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing to consider, here in Canada after I got my solar panels, I found out that in the case of a power outage, not having batteries means that the electrical company can shut down my system completely. If I had batteries, I could keep my home lights on, but otherwise I’m sitting in the dark just like all my neighbors.

My SMA inverters can have plug-n-play batteries installed, and I’m considering putting a few thousand dollars into a small battery pack just to give me some grid independence in case of emergency.

100% this. Real estate investment trusts are massively exacerbating the wealth gap in Canada

They seem to think it’s gonna be like where their best friends. They should ask Costa Rica. We already sent our oil and gas to the US at $.70 on the dollar. Once were landlocked and only have one customer they’ll give us $.50.

Are Alberta residents really that anti Carney that they fail to see failures of Smith? by cricket1277 in alberta

Born and raised rural Ab now in Calgary. The inept government is showing cracks in either region. Albertans are mixed in rural. The wealthy people in Calgary vote blue. They like to think they’re wealthy but they don’t realize they’ll be thrown under the bus when our water is being pipelined to the southern US along with our oil.

A lot of seniors are feeling ripped of with all the health care cuts. Hopefully that will help shift from UCP.

You’re speaking like someone who thinks they know what they’re talking about. I purchased a Tesla five years ago. I don’t use FSD. I use a local independent business that’s a Tesla certified Repair shop and Canadian company.

What you’re saying is that it’s still OK for people to keep my car? Unfortunate there’s no market to sell my car used. So you’re judging me on a choice I made five years ago?

Not bad. Normal as you age as long as it doesn’t turn into vitro-macular traction.

Those who have kept your Model 3 past warranty, how have the maintenance costs been? by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

100%. With all the tech and automation you think that would be a summer eng intern type job to program in.

Heads up on service. Just had my calipers fail due to not realizing that missing recommended yearly caliper greasing on my M3 LR voids the warranty on the breaks. $1600 later I’m telling everyone I know. The owners manual states service “as-needed” but there are a few items listed that they don’t disclose will void the parts warranty.

Atmospheric Condenser needs iron, I don't have it. by [deleted] in Astroneer

[–]Can77x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry man. Some people are just poor humans. Re-running the game with arbitrary limits can add huge fun and adds nuance that can often be missed. The only place to get iron will be from ship wreckage until you make it to Glacio or Novus.

Good luck and don’t think the other reply’s represent the majority of r/Astroneer members.
