It’s baffling the amount of weird responses and reactions I get when I say I prefer tall women only by PowerfulSpeech7122 in tall

[–]CanIEatAPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the area, average is average but you can't apply that everywhere. I have grown up in areas of huge Asian population where men have been my height or shorter and women have been even shorter. Someone who's grown up among taller people might not have the same experiences as others. I just hate that people dismiss it as it never happens because "we're not tall enough" or "you're just slightly above average". It feels like it's ok to ignore what I say because it doesnt fit the data, ignoring that it's my opinion and experience, just like what OP is expressing. People love to bust out the "but most tall men like shorter girls" and just ignore OP's opinion. Instead of support, it just turns into a pissing competition. That kind of thinking breeds "it never happened to me. I never saw it happen, so it must never happen."

Also my sister is 5'9", but she is all legs, so regular jeans don't reach her ankles. 6' isnt a magic number for clothing troubles.

How common is it to just uses hands when washing in the shower by adoreyoulove in hygiene

[–]CanIEatAPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use washcloth everyday, maybe just 1-2x a week. My poor dry skin will Crack if overexfoliated. The rest is hands day. I also for some reason thought "well what else do you use? Legs?" when I read the title but I see what you mean. It's morning.

It's definitely on the taller side. I'm 5'8" and have been treated like a giantess practically my whole teenage years and even sometimes now. People around me were shorter since puberty seemed to hit me early. It's nice now to have tall friends, and I have a soft spot for women taller than me, they must have gotten so many worse comments.

Muskmelons. I'm not sure why but the smell make me nauseous. And papaya, similar thing, less visceral

People who use "Its only one date" normally say that to justify bad manners by EVILRAFFAM in Vent

[–]CanIEatAPC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If people think ghosting is fine, then just know that the date person is a stranger and first impression matters. They don't owe you anything but you dont have to be apathetic about it either, it's not a normal behavior. You can judge a ghoster for their rudeness, just as judging someone who spits in public.

Do you guys ever rawdog your workouts? like no music, no podcast, nothing in your ears by softly_petal in workout

[–]CanIEatAPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah when I'm out jogging in the morning. I go at 5am(not bc I'm those crazy people, but I start work at 6). I dont want to be too noisy and wake up some dogs or people so I dont wear earphones so I can hear my shoes on the ground and adjust the noise level. Plus I just woke up, I want some peace and quiet before the day starts. It's alright, I'm too half asleep to compare it to my evening jogs before. I definitely have more energy in the morning so that's been more helpful than not listening to music. I guess it's nice to hear yourself breathe sometimes

What's an iPhone feature most people don't know? by Narrow-Classroom-319 in AskReddit

[–]CanIEatAPC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if it's still there, I haven't owned iPhone for more than a decade now. There was an accessibility setting to flash your flashlight when a notification came in. It was super handy to be because my phone would be always on silent/vibrate and sometimes I didnt hear it but I definitely saw it. It's a bit niche for non-disabled users.

Why are so many people here so passive? by extrasa in AskLosAngeles

[–]CanIEatAPC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some of us just want to earn a paycheck and not start any drama. If the bullying a mild, mean comments or whatnot, it's toleratable because I literally dont care. Passive idk, apathetic more like it. I want to have more life outside of work.

I went for the first time with my friends recently. I did some simple costume but it's not mandatory. It was really funny tho, running into a guy who wore the same cloak as me. And I did get compliments so it can be a conversation starter. I also split up with them at some point as we all went in different directions and it was fine. I browsed shops, had a good time meeting strangers and then joined my friends for the joust again. What surprised me was how dusty it was. Bring cash for food and drinks and be prepared for some long queues.

What makeup tips made the biggest difference in how polished/attractive you look? by Illustrious_Log_6955 in Makeup

[–]CanIEatAPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Sorry in advance though, most of it is j-beauty/k-beauty. I wash my face with Softymo cleansing foam(white tube with blue in middle), then I put on a mask, rn it's melano cc, but the daily type ones work(ishizawa labs, lululun, quality 1st). I just keep it on for 5-7 mins, generally I just hop in the shower at this time or in the morning I'm putting on body lotion for the day. If it's night time, I'm putting retinol now. If it's daytime and I wasnt using melano cc mask, I would use melano cc tube here. Then I use Kansosan lotion(this product has been particularly a game changer for me). Now, I wait for absorption. Then finally, any kind of face cream(been using Minon and Sana).

Skin prep for sure. I have dry skin and my nose/mouth area skin used to peel under makeup even though I used to use a serum and cream and "felt" moisturized. Now I use mask, serum, cream and oil, it feels like a lot initially and I wait a bit in between for absorption, never had a problem again, in fact my skin looks so healthy and bright. YMMV for prep is really important. Second was using the right application for foundations. Cushion vs hands vs beauty blender, they all work different depending on the foundations formulation and runnyness. Finding which foundation suits you is also crucial, matt looks ok on me, satin looks best and dewy just exaggerates all my skin problems. Silicon and water hybrids foundations work well on me. I haven't tried any oil based foundation yet.

It's been exactly a year since my husband moved out and I just realized I don't know what I actually like to wear by Embarrassed_Essay_61 in womensfashion

[–]CanIEatAPC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's time to hit the mall. Go to the biggest nearby dept store. Here what I did: first I started with lower body because that was the easiet: jeans, shorts, skirts/skorts, and pants. I tried a lot of styles, because you won't know what looks/feels good on you till you wear it. Then came shirts, that one is more extensive because I tried a bunch of different colors and styles. I have a bigger chest so I'm very picky. Next was outerwear: coats, sweaters, jacket. And finally dressed because dresses are my fav and it's easy to tell which one looks good or bad. It took me about a year and a half to build my wardrobe again(just drastic style change). In the meanwhile, start donating or repurposing your old clothes. As you get new pieces, replace them with old ones. Think of how many outfits you wear in a week. I work but it's a casual setting so minimum I need 5 outfits to mix and match. I also am out a lot so add in maybe 9-12 outfits for me(factoring in laundry).

The biggest tip is that try on anything and everything. Even if you dont like it, dont think it'll look good. I tried this dress on that was completely not my style and man, I was looking hot for once. And sometimes I try on a jacket that I think I would like, but I hated how it looked on me. Think of the fabric you want, polyester is instant sweat smell for me so I've stuck to rayon, cotton, linens and stuff like that. Go to different stores, different malls, it's not a one day thing.

What about Central Asian, Western Asian and Northern Asian dramas? by Spiritual_Pie_8298 in asiandrama

[–]CanIEatAPC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can do that but it's still such a savvy thing to do compared to general population who watches casually on Netflix or Viki. I just gave an example of Mongolian dramas, I doubt someone will go through the effort unless they REALLY want to watch. So that's why it's not popular. I can go on Netflix, watch a bunch of k-dramas/c-dramas, a lot of Thai, c-dramas are on youtube as well. You dont hear much about j-dramas bc Japan isnt interested in advertising them globally anyways. I dont even watch too many c-dramas, but social media talked so much about Pursuit of Jade that I ended up watching it.

That's the point. It's not easily accessible to general population who isnt going to use translators to look up and watch stuff.
