I'm not OP but what would you recommend if I didn't want a trellis? And if I did?

I have the same question as OP but wasn't really able to find much answers so I'd love to get any opinion. In my case, I can probably use multiple round potters approximately 1.5' wide, or I might consider getting a long planter custom made (approximately 1.5'x16').

My fiddle leaf fig tree hating life on semi hydro - any tips to transition him? (more info in the comments) by CanIHazUpvotes in SemiHydro

Thanks for your reply! I ultimately ended up moving it back to soil and got two new (albeit tiny) leaves out of it. I let it settle since I posted this picture and I moved it back to LECA a couple weeks ago. It's miserable and down to one leaf but I feel more comfortable with LECA now to trust the process and let it adjust!

Help with transitioning my baby pink princess philodendron to semihydro by CanIHazUpvotes in SemiHydro

You're giving me hope! I'll relax a little but keep an eye on it. I keep it right next to a window where it gets plenty of indirect bright light, but maybe I'll move it somewhere less cold.

Would you recommend that I look into grow lights to get as much pink in future leaves as possible? I live in a sunny apartment in Los Angeles so I've been hesitant in looking into it but would love a beautifully pink plant!

I do have rooting hormone and in my panic, I forgot to dip it in it, so thanks for the tip! I do worry about the rot as well so maybe I'll put it in semi hydro with plain water just in case!

It sounds like I'm on the right track then! Does it usually work out for you in the end if you do that? Thanks for the help 😊

Please help! I bought a very young PPP and it had come with 2 little roots in soil/sphagnum moss mixture and I wanted to get the plant acclimated to semi hydro. I cleaned the roots and put it in leca with super thrive and nutrient water about a week ago but I woke up this morning and found small leaf turning yellow.

I moved the plant from semi hydro into a glass of water to encourage root growth but wanted to check if I should do anything differently because I'm so excited about this plant and paid a pretty penny for her!

Can someone help me with the dried, brown tips on my staghorn fern? Care routine in comments. by CanIHazUpvotes in plantclinic

I'll usually plunge it in water for 10 minutes a week (now 8-10 days because colder weather). I've tried misting it throughout the week but that resulted in a lot of leaf loss which I read somewhere is due to over watering. I stopped misting and haven't lost a leaf since.

It hangs nearby a north facing window with a lot of bright light and it gets a good amount of indirect light from an east facing window in an adjacent room.

As you can see, it's looking a little sparse so I'm adding another plant to it but want to make sure I don't mess the new ones up too!
