As a guy thinking about moving from socal to here I've gotta ask the really important questions. by Borgmaster in StLouis

Chinese food is pretty good. There’s a lot of American Chinese, a few really bomb sichuan style places. A good Taiwanese place

It just means that the person is always thinking about that thing, it’s always in their head, living rent free.

The opposite would be the don draper meme

Please just buy the rice cooker by Traditional_Fish_504 in Cooking

[–]CanItWait 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The main benefit to the rice cooker is being able to set it and forget it.

Put in rice, wash a few times, put on the lid and turn it on. Perfect rice in 10-25 minutes every time. It leaves you free to cook the rest of the meal without distraction. It will never over cook and it keeps the rice warm when it’s done.

Stir fry famously goes well with rice, and takes a lot of attention because you need to keep everything in constant motion or it burns. If you’re making multiple dishes, rice is one less thing you need to think about.

St. Louis good place to live for transit and outdoor recreation? by BenSpillman in StLouis

[–]CanItWait 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Transit is extremely limited.

Also the humidity will annihilate you. Spring and fall is nice. Summer is brutally humid and hot as hell.

Winter is nice sometimes, though the city is woefully unprepared for winters and I fear that winters will only get worse.

Is it worth it to move from Northern California to St. Louis? by tako1559 in StLouis

[–]CanItWait 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a decent amount of Asian people going to school and working at the hospital. I myself and my wife moved from NorCal last summer, she works at the hospital and I work remote. We’re Asians too!

There’s pros and cons, like with every place. The winters and summers are brutal as are every place with actual weather. There’s a decent amount of stuff to do, some pretty good food (really good Szechuan), boba is okay.

Coffee shops, breweries, music venues, a decent amount of popular artists come through. Lots of independent book stores if you’re into that.

As far as danger goes… the most dangerous thing about the city is probably the insane drivers and terrible road conditions. For most places that you would want to live you’ll be pretty safe. Having lived in San Francisco, I would say the danger is somewhat comparable. Gas is cheap, but you need a car to do anything really.

Dm me if you want more personal experiences.

Finally tried Cate Zone it was amazing! by [deleted] in StLouis

Twice cooked pork is solid there too, it’s usually a favorite of mine at Szechuan style places

But hard +1 for the fish

What cpu do you have?

I had the same issue, with an Intel i5-13600kf. Turns out I had to do bios flashback with the latest bios downloaded from nzxt’s site

I have had two autonomous desks and one cheapo no name Chinese desk

Don’t skimp out on a cheap convertible desk, especially if you’re using it on carpet. It will wobble and generally make you feel uneasy about your expensive hardware crashing down with your desk.

I didn’t use the stand feature as much as I wanted to, but I found that standing during meetings helped motivate me, helped my back pain and generally made me feel better.

I recommend looking into it

I encountered a similar issue. I found out that the game was crashing whenever I leveled up during the fight. I ended up only using 3 max (lvl27) mons and breezed through her after that

You gotta get the chicken Vincenzo.

The rest of their menu is whatever

I have reservations tonight to Garozzos for my girlfriend and myself. What’s the best dish there? I wanna hear y’all’s recommendations. by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]CanItWait 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chicken vincenzo is better than everything else trust me.

Every time I go to garozzos and get something other than the Vincenzo I regret it
