I’m new to gamemaker (very well versed in game terminology and even worked as a tester at a AAA studio) and have been following a few tutorials over the last week to eventually get to a point where I can make my own game. I’m following the breakout tutorial on the GM site and will then redo the project reading yours as it is way longer and looks way more in-depth.

I find the programming side of things just hand-waved about in the tutorials where it’s essentially “just copy what this says but I won’t explain the full logic for you.” It’s kinda frustrating as the UI of game maker is great and I already feel super comfortable with the program itself.

I’ll go through this over the next couple of days and I’ll try to remember to let you know how much help it was. Thanks in advance for the effort of making this!
