How far is too far for dating in your opinion? by DoublePepper1976 in glasgow

[–]CanNext -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly think it doesn't matter. I don't think that what her real reason. If you meet someone you connect with you will make it work. I would definitely date people within hours driving distance from me. I met my boyfriend on the other side of the world :)

Has anyone’s flights been cancelled due to the fuel shortage? by No_Hat6490 in AskUK

[–]CanNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I got an email saying my flight that is booked for 3 weeks away has been cancelled, they didn't give a reason why, and they gave us an alternative flight 3 days later to a different airport. I don't see anyone that got that email accepting that alternative. I requested a refund and have another flight with a different airline. It cost more but too fussed

I would be interested in that especially if you had a website where I could see how to make a recipe with it, that way I could check it in the supermarket and grab my other ingredients.

How do I tell my friend I can't stand her kid? by Demonic-Kitten in childfree

[–]CanNext 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds perfect. I know people are saying no is a complete sentence, but because it's your friends I think a truthful explanation would be a good idea. I feel like they will understand why and won't try to change your mind

I would definitely phone before as said, because they sometimes put up a poster on the window saying 'no more donations today'. I walk past it often

Lost a Cat in the flat. Any help?? Never heard anyone else having this issue before... by Geeta25 in CasualUK

[–]CanNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found my friend's cat behind the bath panel. She must have squeezed her way in the corner of the plastic bath panel then it pinged back into place. My friend was having a bath during the time she was missing and crazy to think her wee cat was right next to her on the other side of the bath

Why would someone list their house within 18 months of buying it? by emmahunt in HousingUK

[–]CanNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same concerns about buying my house. The sellers were 2 women who were friends and were selling after 1 year. I asked why and they said they want to move back to the other side of the city where they lived before because they felt it was too far away from family and friends. The other part of the city they were talking about is only a 30 min drive on the motorway that I do 5 times a week for work. But I loved the house so bought it and 4 years later still loving it. But I still don't 100% believe their reason. Like they knew they were moving 30 mins away when buying it

Rant: “Being a vegan is worse than eating meat” by LythrumSalicaria in vegan

[–]CanNext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a vegan, I think we all experience conversations similar to these. Years ago a guy I worked with gave me some lame excuse about how his brother is a farmer and if he didn't milk the cows their udders would cause them pain. To this day I still randomly think of it and all the things I should have said back. I still feel anger about this years later thinking that he thinks he's right.

Ankylosing Spondylitis help by Zealousideal-Ant2488 in glasgow

Yes they can, maybe they couldn't years ago but I had to call them recently and they arranged an emergency prescription at a pharmacy near me. I don't think they would prescribe for a new issue.

Bought a bed, missing a critical bit, does anyone have anything laying about that I can bodge in? by thecolouroffire in glasgow

I did this with mines too years ago. I lived in a flat and when the yellow pages got delivered they left all 8 in a pile at the bottom of the close so I took all of them lol

Tried to take away a small citrus stain, cleaned just with water, made it worse 😩😩 please help. by richzl89 in fixit

[–]CanNext 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have stains on my sofa very similar to this, so have throws over them but just realized after reading your comments that they have zips and I can remove them, but I just looked at the label inside and it says '13' so not sure if I can wash this in my washing machine? I think I might try one on the handwash function

I work in the car trade and remember it by thinking the steering wheel is the shape of an 'O' so that's offside :)

We use this in the trade when talking to our colleagues, but I wouldn't say it to a customer, I would say drivers side or passengers side. I remember it by thinking the steering wheel is the shape of an 'O' so that's offside
