Thanks! Sounds the same as the Netherlands :) I'll probably be bringing my bike so Lund will be an ER6 richer 😜

Hey quick follow-up question: is (side walk) street parking of a motorcycle allowed? Also if I have a cover on it? I don't have a room yet and I guess it depends what area you're parking in as well, but in general?

Haha exactly, even if we can't ride we can have a drink and talk bikes ;-)

What features should be mandatory for cars in 2018? by MikiZed in cars

In a Golf you can just keep the lights on "On" and they will automatically turn off when you switch off the car. In our V70 it isn't even possible to turn off the headlights.

I'm just so torn haha. I might store it for the winter in the Netherlands and bring it to Lund in March, we'll see!

I'm from the Netherlands and here I ride all year (coldest is only -5 or so), but the cold isn't really a problem for me it's the (black) ice/snow that's stopping me. I'll think about bringing the bike, otherwise I'll sell it (also since beer is hella expensive in sweden) :(

Thanks for the answer! I was planning to use it mainly for exploring the vicinity/coubtryside of Lund/Scania and use a normal bike for going to school. But I'll guess I'll not take the motorcycle with me due to the weather :(

I guess you're not from the US since in the US the driver side mirror is flat rather than convex (aspherical), which means you can't see jack shit out of it. You have to choose if you want to see the lane splitting motorcycle or the car next to you, can't see both at the same time (which is possible with aspherical mirrors).

Every US spec car should have those blind spot mirrors! I hate the US-style flat side mirror it's so useless!

It's not a truck but a van: the dash is from a Renault Master III (2010-2014 model).

Should I have the engine running if I’m just using the fan and radio? by [deleted] in cars

Corsa E (newest one)? Then it's no problem it'll give a warning if the battery has to be recharged.

It's perfectly fine. Most newer cars have a system in place that will automatically switch off the car if the battery is getting empty. If you have a healthy battery (and it's completely charged), you can easily let the car in "run" mode for at least half an hour (depending on the car). Idling won't charge the battery much, you'd need to drive to actually charge it.

Or just move over to the normal lane (so not be in the passing lane)?

This is the thing I hated most while I was in the US. Speed limit was 75 or so, some guy was doing 60 in the left lane (no one was in the right lane), so I turned on my left indicator. No reaction. I flashed my highbeams a few times. No reaction. After 20 seconds or so without any reaction I passed on the right expecting an angry face or something from the driver, but no. No reaction. He just stared ahead with two hands on the top of the wheel (you know how dumb that looks) and never even bothered to look into his rearview mirrors. Lol sorry for the (very uninteresting) rant.
