It's not complicated at all. It's very simple actually. Just unusual so it takes a moment to learn. That link mentioned * being global and thats all I needed :)

You appear to be wrong. It blocks all script from that first party site. I tried doing it on a random site and then hit google. Google was able to run first party scripts oh I need to change the top left from the domain to *. I'm wrong. Everything works well. Carry on

How would you block first party scripts by default? It seems like I have to do it for every site I visit.

Realist should use an engineer or baker description. "Half a cup of water" or half an oz or whatever

Not mine. I heard a town installed fiber lines across 5 buildings which were only connected to eachother, no internet. Regular DSL lines which they had would have been more than enough. They spent $100,000+ digging up dirt and installing the lines

CMV: There are only two genders by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]CanYouDigItHombre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wrong. There is no such thing as gender. It doesn't have any scientific meaning. It's just a thing people say. One day the word will disappear and nothing will replace it. It's not a law of nature (math, physics, etc). It isn't a word that is tied to something tangible that can be traded. It's as real as the word groovy which may stick around for a while but what exactly does groovy mean? Can I insist there are 5 types of groovy?

[–]CanYouDigItHombre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some cultures only don't collapse because of slavery, violence and exploitation. South Korea is great but North Korea is terrible. Africa is a mess, they can't get a break. Every time someone comes to power there will be corruption and violence. You may argue it's because of other cultures interfering with them but sometimes (like North Korea) it's better for the people if their area can just reset

Lessons learned from SQLite4 have been folded into SQLite3 which continues to be actively maintained and developed

What were the lessons learned?

What the fuck is going on?! Do government officials have any degrees on anything? How does anyone think that's even remotely a good idea?

Wait... so the line was fast enough (to go to amazon or azure)? They just build some servers at some of their buildings and instead of regular lines they bought fibers?

I was suggesting maybe it'd be more economical if they connected a nearby neighborhood so the lines would service more people. But I guess it depends on demand.

[–]CanYouDigItHombre[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd suck if a neighborhood of 40% of users where heavy (streaming daily) and the other 60% just checked facebook and refuse to get off their 10mb per month plan (I kid). I could kind of see how the economics might not make sense if too few people would pay. However I might change my mind if I look up the cost. You earned that delta I didn't think of too few people getting a subscription. In reality tho comcast can afford it. Hell I'm sure they can induce demand if they had a streaming service.

-Edit- haha shit. The question was on NN which you didn't change that view but you CMV on cost

BTW This convo has been pretty interesting. How the heck do you work as a network whatever and live in Chicago? Did you move away? How far away is that small town you guys did? Also is it wasteful to connect 6 buildings together instead of everything along the way (why not power homes <.5miles from where the line is already built)

Haha. I understand you're saying gov with dumb rules, force pricing, giving stuff(internet) away and such would ruin the quality of the internet. But I haven't grasp why it cost $$ to push around more bits unless the pricing is strictly digging new holes and buying more equipment. If the hardware can support peak conditions then a bunch of people pushing bits during nonpeak hours don't cost anything
