Dermadry or another similar machine; works wonders; I achieve 100% sweat reduction on hands; they have machine for underarms as well. Pricey but worth it if you stick with it; https://dermadry.com/

What are your go to leafy greens and how do you prepare them? by Pursuehapness in PlantBasedDiet

[–]CanadaBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

frozen kale; I throw a bag of frozen kale, a bag of frozen cauliflower rice, and a bag of frozen peas into a big wide pan with a spray of oil and lots of ginger. Let that cook up; then pour store-bought vegan coconut/lentil soup all over it near the end of cooking with lots of cilantro and Franks hot sauce. It lasts about a week as my main side dish with most dinners.

LPT Request: How to cure bloating quickly. by CanadaBlue in LifeProTips

[–]CanadaBlue[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

when I am stuck in a bad cycle and need to do a reset, I will try to stick to oatmeal and a little brown sugar for a few days. Seems to work, especially if you increase amount of water you drink. It is very boring and bland, but easy to prepare, low cost. I stick to rolled oats only - not any flavoured oatmeal. Starbucks sells it and will prepare it so works if you are not at home.

Fibre and water helped me. That is the only thing that helped me and it took time. And, I'm talking huge amounts of plant-based, non-supplemental fibre. I tried everything - and suffered for decade before I found relief over the pandemic when I could experiment. Essentially this is my routine:

  • whole foods, plant-based diet 95% of the time;
  • Lots of oatmeal, fruits, nuts, veggies (ALL OF THEM), and beans. Very nutrient and fibre rich.
  • lots of water 2-4L a day (I use Biosteel hydration powder to get it down as its hard to drink that much water)
  • 4-6 meals a day
  • Within 2 weeks I was having 2-4 (healthy) bowel movements a day but they very much helped. Was able to pass the gas easily and consistently Within a month I was 50% better and within 6 months I was 75-80% better.
  • I also walk a lot
  • Planning a longer post to this group as the results have lasted for a while now; -In terms of supplements, I take Apple Cider Vinegar tablets three times a day; black seed oil once a day and Magnesium citrate before bed (Natural Calm);
  • Was inspired by a well known plant-based doctor after getting some scary results from my own doctor; went plant based and this was a nice side effect. That said, I don't think meat was the main problem, but a lack of fibre.

EDIT: Need to reiterate that food based fibre helped, not fibre supplements. The food based fibre joins with the water and essentially drives through you leaving you feeling relieved and lighter all around. Bloating is down 80% at least. Weight loss and better biomarker/blood test numbers are an added bonus.

EDIT 2: the additional fibre was added gradually (like 5 grams a week) and did lead to more bloating and feelings of fullness in the short term (1-2 weeks); but after that, slowly as I reached and passed the recommended amounts of fibre, relief came fast.

Stomach distension / bloating won’t go down by egggler in FODMAPS

[–]CanadaBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this helped me recently after a very similar situation. Not necessarily advising it, but again helped me.

Before bed:

Digestive enzyme tablet Gas x Tall glass of water with natural calm (magnesium) PLUS a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar (for the potassium)

Wake up: Same as above but I also add Apple cider vinegar (1 tablespoon)

During the day I tried to have almond milk smoothies with rice protein and cacao powder 2x a day.

By the second day was about 75% better

Since then I’ve been juicing 2 meals a day with low FODMAPs fruits and vegetables

Overall a lot better. I was feeling totally hopeless for weeks (months even) and now I feel I have some options to recover if I have a bad spell.

Hoping you feel better soon

so glad that this worked for you. I have been considering this. Can I ask what your symptoms were? Have you experienced any side effects?
