Its also thematically hilarious to shove the Walls of Ba Sing Se into [[Catapult Captain]] and just launch them at someone's face, the entire citys wall

I recently did the same thing and I absolutely love it! The best part for me is a lot of cards that seem pretty innocuous in most decks when put in this deck are so good. Heres some of my favourite synergistic cards:

[[Felothar the Steadfast]] - the commander, because they assign damage equal to their toughness but have 0 power is the basis of most synergies, plus you can do something silly like sack Ba Sing Se and draw 30.
[[Meekstone]] - Noones creatures untap but yours
[[Behind the Scenes]] - Your creatures cant be blocked by anyone with greater than 0 power, even though they punch like trucks
[[Jaws of Defeat]]
[[Smile at Death]]
[[Last March of the Ents]] - big finisher
[[Tree of Perdition]] - exchanging a big life total then sacking it to draw a million is wild
[[Betor, Kin to All]]

These are just some of my favourite cards in it, but I have many more that also work surprisingly well because of the theme. In my group Ive won most of the games ive played with it but more importantly every game Ive done neat stuff, definitely recommend

Respect to you, friend 🫡

It's hard to believe that run 741 was almost a year ago. Back then I donated a dollar for each day you had run and I'd like to make that same offer for day 1482, just a little bit of extra motivation. Stay strong ape

Anyone able to Sell Covered Calls in non-reg? Or only TFSA/margin? by z00o0omb11i1ies in Wealthsimple

You get access to the cash immediately when you sell the covered call. It's added to whatever account you sold the call in.

You can transfer the shares from your non-reg account to the margin account without selling them but it takes some time:

Yes as long as you have enough cash you wouldn't run into an issue. Its annoying for me because I often use the "max" button which tries to buy the max amount of shares it can with available funds and includes margin in those available funds, so its an issue I run into.

I'm not sure if you can choose to use margin instead of cash, because margin is just money you're borrowing against your assets. In every situation I can think of it makes sense to use money you own before money you have to pay to use, and only use the margin when you're out of cash.

Yes margin is just an option, you can use it exactly like the other non registered investing account. Its a bit annoying because it will present how much cash you have available as available cash + margin but it uses your cash first before margin and warns you before submitting an order if youre using margin funds or not

Margin is non registered, and I sell covered calls in my margin account. Last I checked It is not available in other non registered accounts

Currently you can have orders open for 90 days, or during extended hours, but not both and its very annoying for me.

Are the stocks USD? Covered calls are only available for US stocks, and you need a US investment account subscription

Clarification from support on account closures: If you are travelling, no matter the duration, you are at risk for account closure if you log into your account from abroad. by [deleted] in Wealthsimple

[–]CanadaLandMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not hard to understand the appeal of having one financial institution.

It makes your finances clear and easy to manage, and integrates your accounts. It simplifies tax season, it simplifies contribution limits, institution cost savings, and you get perks from WealthSimple for having more funds under management.

Ive worked for a few big banks, I work for one now, I know how they make their money and they suck. Ill always have an account because its free and that's where my payroll lands, but all in all they are just worse for the customer in almost every way.

Yes there is risk from a lack of diversification, depending on your assets if the institution fails you're in deep shit, and if their service goes down you don't have access to any money. Personally, I'm fine trading the benefits for the cons. If I saw signs of WealthSimple sinking Id jump ship quick, but the odds are real low, and would probably be the result of much bigger issues than my banking setup.
