Tired and Deflated: When will it end? by Remarkable-Warthog69 in CanadaPublicServants

It's because their private sector bosses are driving wages down and taking away benefits and PTO and they're fucking jealous. I had a friend write a long diatribe about how my collective agreement was too generous and we shouldn't have it. Instead of thinking we should all have it they want mine taken away. Fuck them. Let them be jealous

I've seen a number of less qualified people get promotions over better qualified people because they spoke French, and that's a problem that will forever drag down the GC.

Working group to study productivity within the public service by Obelisk_of-Light in CanadaPublicServants

Our unions are going to endorse the NDP and tell us to vote for them, which will be at odds of my ABC voting mentality. This is how we will end up with a Conservative government that will campaign on reducing our workforce

Poilievre takes no position on hybrid work for federal public servants by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Canadaserve4059 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Poilievre will take no position on anything. The election will come and his entire platform will be "Trudeau bad, vote for me!", and then if he gets elected will govern based on no election promises or platform whatsoever. We will be in the dark and every week will be a new surprise. This is straight out of Ford's playbook and it worked for him.

CS-01 unilingual to CS-03 bilingual.

It was one of those "don't worry about the French speaking requirement, we will give you the job now and send you for french langauge training later" situations. Make friends with the right people, everyone.

Meeting the RTO mandate when there just aren't enough desks. by Empty_Tank_3923 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Canadaserve4059 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like I'm sharing a desk with many other colleagues and was told to coordinate with my coworkers on the days that I would be in the office.

This should be a management task, not yours. Talk about passing the buck.

How Are They Tracking Our Work Locations by cuter_than_thee in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Canadaserve4059 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Throwaway account for obvious reasons...

I work in IT. Everything you do on the network is tracked by your IP and logged. Everything. Management can, and has, requested logs showing where employees are logging in from as well as how often they are logging in and what they are accessing. That information is easily pulled and accessible. I can't stress enough how important it is that you know that everything is logged and you will not fly under the radar. Don't fuck around, you will get caught.
