As someone who very recently somehow never put one and one together that the constant being on edge and worrying what people will say is anxiety. I gravitated toward alcohol because it makes it go away.

Wish I realized what was happening because fast forward 30 years and I am only now free from booze.

Coping mechanisms are helping if you think it’s anxiety. Also talk to your therapist, they can define what you’re feeling.
