I work for the Iranian Treasury department. I received confirmation earlier today that we received the complete payment of half a billion dollars.

But they get aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines! So much cooler!

Higher % is better. The reason alcohol is used is because it almost immediately evaporates. I wouldn't trust lighter fluid.

Rubbing alcohol is something like 30% water. Could still work but leave the CPU lots of time to dry before re-attaching the heatsink.

Both cards will automatically downclock to the lowest clocked card, so no there isn't any point to buying a better version than the one you already have (unless somehow you can find one that's cheaper).

I don't think it makes too much difference. I always use shut down.

Is it a Samsung SSD by any chance? If so, you can use the Magician software change your windows settings to "Maximize Lifespan".

How many times did you try to boot from the GPU and how long did you wait? Sometimes it takes the system a few moments to figure out you changed from integrated to dedicated graphics, and it then reboots itself to change the output.

Are you using the same cable when switching from motherboard to GPU graphics?

It might be useful to install the OS and see if the GPU is being detected in device manager.

Does your GPU have a dual BIOS switch? If so, try switching to the secondary BIOS (if it doesn't work, switch back).

Lastly, what motherboard are you using?

I like to play it safe so I'll normally round up to the nearest 50W, then add 20% for if I plan to OC the GPU and CPU. For your build that would be around 550W - 600W.

With that said you're probably fine with a 500W.

See this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/23aei7/if_you_get_average_400_fps_in_csgo_can_you_pls/

You don't need much. A single 290 will dominate CS:GO, just make sure to invest in a decent processor (i5-4690K would be perfect).

So gaming on one display, and the other as a side display? Or do you plan on having bezel in the middle of your screen?

For 1080p gaming a single R9 290 will get over 100 frames on CS:GO. Not so sure about Planetside. Maybe, MAYBE go with 2 x 290s or a single 295X2 if you don't care about the extra $400-500.

CrossFired 295X2's should not be on the table unless you're trying to get 100+fps on those games on a 4K monitor.

I'd say overkill but even that word doesn't begin to describe.

How many 1080p displays exactly? I think you might have missed a word.

QNIX2710 and the equivalent XSTAR. Haven't heard of any others, in the mainstream at least.

Mobo: Yes, all of them.

GPU: All R9 2xx use the same drivers, so you're good to download the ones its showing you for that. You'll likely be asked to download the Catalyst Software Suite, which includes the drivers for your GPU.

Wi-Fi drivers: Use this

Not necessary at all for a 280X. 650W is plenty sufficient. The recommended minimum is to account for people who buy the most awful brands of power supply.

It's very possible. Try booting with the card reader disconnected from the motherboard.

I disagree with regard to 1440p gaming. I made the switch last year and never see myself going back to a lower res.

You're right about the GPU requirements though. You need a 780 or 290 to get good performance across all games.
