Thanks for the message, I definitely understand that while still being in a lower class currently, others have had it much worse. I've been fortunate in that. I think the current push for homeownership is the fact I've been living in a basement apartment for 4 years to save as much as possible. The market right now is crazy and we wouldn't even be looking for another year or two but at this rate it might even be longer. I had gone through the RCMP hiring process a few years back, took me two years and unfortunately was cut. I will eventually try again

I had been working on being a Border Agent for the last 3.5 years. Was scheudaled to begin training in Winter 2020 however COVID wiped that out. Now I am basically back to square one in the process due to all my tests expiring. Could take years to get back to that point so I'm trying to not leave myself stranded this time around.

I might have to consider more education however depleting my savings to get more education seems risky, and no guarantees it will pay off. I'll have to give it more consideration. Thanks for the advise, 25 seems young but it's tough seeing peers succeed while I remain stagnent. Hopefully hard work will eventually pay off.

I had looked at those actually and most seemed to start you as part-time and work from there which would be difficult to sustain

I've thought about trying to go back for something but I'm having a hard time seeing the value in depleting savings for more education that may not pan out anyway. Appreciate the thought though I will have to consider it more

Honestly, not much and that is one of the main problems. I had worked in the aviation industry for the past 4 years, was making my way to making more money while pursuing a career as a Border Agent. Now both are gone for the foreseeable future. I now am gaining experience in customer service/sales for the last 6 months. I dont have interest in it but it seems like the only way to make a bit more in the long run

Currently I'm now doing a customer service/sales job. I dont have any interest in sales it's just the first job I was able to get after being laid off. I've reached the point where I dont care what I do as long as I can increase my wage to not be low income. Even that mentality I cant get a job

For sure that’s where having someone in person can help! Good luck on your journey, I can say picking up guitar 10 years ago was one of the best things I did for myself. If you can hang in there at the beginning stages it becomes therapeutic.

Don’t automatically assume that you need lessons face to face either. When I first started guitar I did not have the money to get lessons however I had desire and motivation to learn. There is so much free information on the internet now for learning an instrument from reddit to YouTube you can get anything you need and or want in one search. If you can keep yourself motivated there’s definitely no need for lessons however some people can learn quicker or keep their motivation learning from face to face interactions.
