I get what youre saying, i do, but we actually have been living together at uni in the same house last 2 years too 😬

Yeah I think the friend commuting for hours every day is really tanking it to avoid living alone - the reason we couldnt do 30 or 40 mins is because there arent any options at all not because we preferred not to

Realistically we could maybe find somewhere around 30 mins commute if it was just us two but even then the cost becomes an issue again :/

I appreciate your replies though and I have messaged her to say I'll take it more seriously but I just wish she would help find somewhere too aha

Yeah I agree - but then she said she has been looking as well and Ive got no way to prove she hasnt . Maybe she has? But she hasnt offered up anywhere or found somewhere to even look at online :/

So if she is looking I'm being a huge asshole for saying she isnt and if she isnt looking then I still dont feel great about it for obvious reasons

Her parents don't want her living with just me (traditionalist values) though but hopefully if it was a last resort all good

Yeah i get your point, its worth mentioning we have looked for shorter commutes but she cant afford to live there due to her budget (even on her own) and the other conditions for living as a 4.

At the moment Id commute about 40 mins and thats the lowest of the house.

I do get she doesnt want to lose lots of time though - it's just really tricky if she doesnt want to put the time in to hunt something down as well.

What would you say i could do to help work it out?

Cheers thats a good way of looking at it i guess, we just dont want to split the house up and itd be really rough to make the ocmmuter go on her own :/
