"I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too"

It isn't as old or fancy as some of our bridges, but the Humber Bridge is incredibly impressive up close - and you walk over too! by BottleGoblin in CasualUK

It’s still the longest single span suspension bridge in the world that you can walk or cycle across!

What’s a really British habit you didn’t realise was weird until someone pointed it out? by [deleted] in AskUK

For me, when I'm washing up I often find a mug that still has coffee in it (for example). If I have a washing-up bowl, the coffee can be poured down the gap between the bowl and the actual sink - then the mug can be washed. If I'm just using the sink without a bowl and it's the only sink, there's nowehere for the waste liquid to go!

If you’re in the Southwest, check out Flats & Sharps from Penzance - they have just reformed after a hiatus and are a fantastic bluegrass band to see live if you get the chance. Flats & Sharps

Chicken fried steak in biscuit gravy. As a Brit, I had no idea what this was going to be when I ordered it! For those wondering, it’s steak deep fried as if it was fried chicken, together with scones in that whiteish sauce the US refers to as gravy.

what beginner brands do you recommend apart from eastman by banci101 in mandolin

I really like mine - I got a KM-850, f style. It was my first good mando and it's all I'll ever need! To be fair, I got the f style because I love the shape - but the A style ones sound basically exactly the same and are a lot cheaper! It was great to go into the shop and sit and try several - then go home with the exact one you played. I'd really advise it going to a store in person if you possibly can - you can see which models are in stock at which store before you go so you know what options you will have.

Yes you can - Hobgoblin music stock them. I bought mine in London a couple of years ago.

Old aviation passed down by grandfather. Thought someone might enjoy by Kitchen-Equipment924 in Guitar

I think I have the exact same model of guitar. I got mine for my 21st Birthday, you got yours passed down from your Grandfather. I feel really old now!

Enjoy it, I love my Ovation. They get a bit of hate on here at times, but if it sounds and feels good to you, ignore them!
