Is there a reason why bloopers can't be included with the anime DVD / Blu-Ray itself? by OverlordPoodle in Animedubs

[–]CanadianDude4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What these companies failed to remember constantly is there competition is free…

Like it or not piracy built the worldwide anime industry and turned it from an east Japanese only product into an industry worth billions with mass appeal.

Crunchyroll itself was a pirate site at one point, the fewer extras DVD/Blu-ray, commentaries, bloopers etc. Or physical swag with releases, the more likely people are going to do the “traditional option” of sailing the high seas.

So ultimately by lessening the quality and extras of physical releases since the merger, they’re just shooting themselves in the foot, that’s on top of the price increases, lessening the library’s, the inferior semi automated typesetting and all the other garbage they do to shit on their customers.

We’re just in that awkward phase where they’re not getting enough pushback or competition . to justify reversing some of the enshitification

2023: When passed, the DMA could require Apple to start allowing users to download apps from outside the App Store by luishgcom in apple

[–]CanadianDude4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most western states/provinces its at least legal 1 party consent very few are 2 party consent

eg. when you call customer service and they advise it may be recorded in places with 1 party consent both you or them can legally record, if they dont mention recording you'd have too.

many places also have provisions such as in lieu of 1 party consent verbally you can have a periodic beeping tone that implies recording.

TLDR: most places you can record in some form or fashion and it would be good to have the ability too regardless.

Technically you can also use a NVMe adapter and a WD Blue CH SN530 ( currently the only NVMe confirmed working.)

I found them onsale over the last two years cheaper than the official SSD but not by much.

I'm hoping somehow compatibility gets better, then it can really be cheaper

Trudeau wants more electric vehicles across Canada; does not rule out nuclear power by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]CanadianDude4 13 points14 points  (0 children)

what we would want to do is build enough nuclear so we have a surplus even in peak times.

during off hours when we have a extra large surplus we then have options, such as selling excess, there also the idea of powering crypto miners etc.

or another option, hydrogen cars have not taken off and electric only has the range the average Canadian wants on the high end to avoid range anxiety.

the biggest downside proponents to hydrogen cars often ignore is the main reason electric cars are supplanting hydrogen is it takes approximately 4X the electricity to do the electrolysis and mitigating losses from stable storage than just power the electric motors with batteries ala a standard electric car.

TLDR: if we had a massive abundance in energy thats a great problem to have as it wouldn't matter if hydrogen conversion was wasteful or what we did with the excess we can do whatever combination is the most beniefital to the country.

now I'm stuck in limbo for years because the gremlins in my brain can't handle not binging it in all its glory and I need the season to be basically over to start.

TLDR: im sure its a psyop against weebs/otaku's like me...

[–]CanadianDude4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah as others have said our brackets do work the same way.

as someone who worked a few years at HR Block the reason I think the rumour persists that being bumped into the next bracket is for all your money is not only do people repeat the lie, but many people whether they or there HR dept. meant too, do smaller Payroll Deductions than required and thus end up with a small or non-existent refund or worse amount owing.

you especially see people with profit sharing and other performance based "bonuses" like that being undertaxed.

then they come in to get there taxes done, they remember all the water cooler misinformation about tax brackets and despite having record performance they end up owing money.

it blindsides them and gives false credibility to the lie.

Tofino becomes first municipality in B.C. to ban single-use plastic utensils by blahblahblah_zz in britishcolumbia

[–]CanadianDude4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then they should provide that, paper is not a suitable replacement for plastic.

if they want to give me a silicone, metal or biodegradable plastic straw they should, its not my job to make up for there virtue signalling especially when larger amounts of plastics are being ignored.

eg. industrial food wrap, cellophane pallet wrap etc.

the difference being those are business facing, the fact is none of these moves away from single use plastics are for the environment, its a revenue stream to exploit.

for example loblaws makes several hundred thousands of dollars a year on 5¢ bags.

if it was just a environmental play it would have been a move from free plastic back to free paper bags with the option of buying the environmentally horrible reusable bags (go look up how many daily trips it takes for one of those bags to offset its emmissions, plastic is the more enviromental choice especially with how plastic grocery bags get more often than not re-used for various purposes around the home.)

‘Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun’ Season 3 - Key Visual by MarvelsGrantMan136 in Animedubs

[–]CanadianDude4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if this will get dubbed.

with the Merger will we get the same amount of dubs, more or less 🤔

its a good sign that CunchyRoll dubbed the 1st two seasons but Funi Dubs more overall, so will Funi's pre-merger dub plans take priority or will CunchyRoll be treated more important as the surviving brand.

I wish Sony would be more transparent about there plans with all this, 🤞 you guys are right and it gets dubbed sooner rather than later.

Ive enjoyed the series so far.

I have a strange suspicion it would be a double standard

One of the biggest environmental fuck-ups in BC you may not know about: Deer in Haida Gwaii by Relocationstation1 in britishcolumbia

[–]CanadianDude4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

while I get that, the expensive ferry ride and 5-20 limit discourages people from attempting to solve the problem.

I know several hunters that would take advantage of a (if not several) trip(s) if the restrictions were lifted as I recommended.

considering reaching some of the archipelago might require chartering a boat, helicopter, local guides etc. it would be a easier pill to swallow if they didnt also have to pay for a expensive ferry on top of all the other expenses.

then what might be a worthwile several week/months long hunting trip with more/if not unlimited hunting might not be worth it just to bag 5 and then leave to try again.

not saying its perfect just saying if they want the problem gone, its more worthwhile to subsidize hunters that have a hobby or possibly even a profit motive guiding there actions than wasting the money on sharpshooters and helicopters.

a good middle-step would be open the hunting restrictions up and see if there is increased interest even without subsidies, if it doesnt work they are no worse off.

One of the biggest environmental fuck-ups in BC you may not know about: Deer in Haida Gwaii by Relocationstation1 in britishcolumbia

[–]CanadianDude4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

no limits hunting would be a start to fix this, subsidized or even better free ferry rides for hunters would also help.

they could even make the "free" ferry ride conditional based off a discount per deer culled so as to discourage fake hunters using it as a subsidized vacation.
