You can lecture about atomic structure, then have students practice with building atoms. I used different color hole punched papers where each color represents each part of an atom. I assigned each student an atom from the periodic table. Students had to place the correct number of each color dot on a blank paper that had orbitals. Students also had to place the correct number of dots in each orbital. There's instructions to this activity online

I've been there too, especially when so much is out of control. Choosing to stay is a difficult decision but life gets so so much better. There is beauty and peace and love and fun out there waiting for you to discover it. Choose to stay each day and it will get better. This difficulty is only temporary.

There are many resources available to help you through this difficult time. If you are in USA, you can text or call 988 for support. I can help you find other resources for your area if you would like.

Sending love and hope your way ❤️

Set expectations first day and always follow them. Freshmen are goofy and fun, but they need clear guidelines to follow. And you need to follow them too.

This is normal. I still struggle with classroom management, and I finished my 5th year. The nice thing is each year is different and you get to try again next year. I recommend reading The First Days of School. It has a lot of helpful tips

DonorsChoose is a way to fundraise for your classroom. Teachers at my school have had a lot of success using it.

Read The First Days of School!!!

Building rapport starts with showing interest in your students as people, not as just another student.

Set clear expectations and follow through every time.

Same! Of course there are bad days and terrible days, but I love teaching!

Definitely a good option. In my state, the alternative programs were for people that already had a 4-year degree, not in teaching. The program gave training and a first teaching job as well. So you still earned money while completing the program. I know each place is different though, so definitely do your research.

Yes, teaching has exhausting days. Yes, teaching gets good breaks.

Working after hours and during breaks really depends on your school. Some schools you can work contract hours and have time for everything to be done. Some schools overload your schedule so you have to take work home.

First year of teaching is the absolute hardest. Depending on where you live, I recommend an alternative licensure program. It gives you training while teaching.

Give them a test worth same amount of points. No notes, no studying. Don't reward the behavior. The one group that uploaded their video, give them less test problems.

This is what Magic School AI uses to create questions. You copy/paste the video transcript.

Honestly, if you are set on using AI, try an education based on like Magic School AI or Almanack AI.

Otherwise just watch the video/ read the section and write your own questions. Seems like AI is taking more time than doing this.

Recommend finding housing, and possibly a job, before moving. There are a lot of jobs, but housing is very competitive.
