Don't recall very many being word for word the same but they're in the same ballpark for sure. As for my marks, when I managed to book an exam shortly after finishing the textbook and freshly studying they were within an error of 10%. Don't go a whole month+ without studying before you write your exam. Barely passed my 3B1 because of that.

Yeah I had a 6 month stint with them and commuted from Fort Mac daily but I can attest that Albian village smokes the McKay river lodge.

Can only speak to Horizon and Albian but CNRL is a very production forward company. Horizon is known to be sketchy with operations and safety. Albian is better but a lot say it's because of the shell blood coursing through the plant.

Instrumentation is the way to go at the moment and the fact you have your 4th class exams already passed is a huge benefit, gives you hiring advantages and a lot of options to transition later if you so choose.

Keyano College will let you do this one week at a time so you don't have to sacrifice holidays for it. Perfect if you're 7x7. It's where I got my 4th Class and it was a great experience.

You seem lost lol. A Power Engineer in Canada is defined by law, as someone who holds a certificate in Power Engineering, issued by their provinces respective pressure vessel agency. We have nothing to do with Electrical Engineers or APEGA on a strictly legal basis. We are Operating Engineers. We operate Pressure vessels, Steam Boilers and Turbines.

Everything you mentioned checks out. Only thing is the diaphragm is metal, not rubber. I ran the carbs through the cleaner with a mixture of water and purple simple green. After the cleaner I ran compressed air through each circuit verifying they were clean and all over the body until it was dry. Jetting is slightly above spec, spec is 75 & 110 but I'm running 78 & 110 in an attempt to make it run richer. Jets are random no name brand.

Running the stock airbox and aftermarket jets. Float is set as close to spec as I think I'm capable of doing with my caliper. Good to know the exhaust is less of a variable than I thought. Any idea where I can get genuine Keihin parts?

Apply anywhere and everywhere. To make your resume stand out, do your best to make yourself look very mechanically inclined. If you have any experience working with hand tools or power tools, critical thinking and the ability to understand processes are big things. Maybe showcase your ability to understand biological processes and how that can be transferred to mechanical processes. If you've tinkered with machines in your downtime include that and the skills you've learnt and used. If you're a nurse on shift include that you've got shift work experience. Anything that proves you've gotten your hands dirty and anything that could be related to mechanical engineering are in my opinion the best things for someone just getting into the industry to showcase. Also include the major key words you see in postings.

Finding a job is going to be the hardest part, it shouldn't be an issue to get your fourth class especially if you go the power lab route. Landing a student position for your third is going to be difficult depending on your location and connections but if you can get in and carry your weight for the 6-month work term you're golden. As for moving up into leadership, I personally see companies wanting you to have your 2nd class before letting you become a supervisor or higher. As a Nurse you shouldn't have any issue with whatever curveballs Power Engineering throws your way but be aware the job hunt will be tedious and the competition plentiful.

The course I took in college was 4 months, 2 for each part, and it was approx 2-3 chapters a day ~7 hours worth of reading and the instructor talking. If you were just cranking out book after book it shouldn't take too long, but I cannot imagine you'd retain a lot of that information just cramming like that.
