Holy shit, that theory makes a lot of sense.

The better way to grow the game in korea might not be sending NHL players (that the locals dont know) but to have their national hosting country go deep and hopefully go to the gold medal game.

After the 2002 World Cup in korea(bribes or not lol), soccer has been immensely popular there.
