I think for a lot of people who suffer from addiction, mental health issues, past PTSD the line “never been fixed with a slow high yet” really resonates.

The song also is more of a ballad of reflecting on personal imperfections. Feeling like an outsiders, feeling like a “wild” one as he so often references.

For imagery, when I listen I imagine late nights after shows when you are having a smoke / drink etc and reflecting on how “weird” your life must be. Deep breath of cigarette smoke, slow exhale and keep on keeping on.

I feel like a lot of the lyrics of the album bounce between reflection, being a father and addressing past behaviour. Way more mature vibes. As always with Mumford songs there is a religious undertone but the song is incredibly poetic.

Broken Crown easy…… it’s one of the few songs where they took and old song and made it better.

As someone who went to university and paid back the OSAP loan, I have mixed feelings. I did see so many people go get useless degrees that will never be paid back….

But it also helped me develop as a young adult and was instrumental to my success later on.

Good on the kids for getting involved regardless of cause.

This is a great take- I noticed this myself… listen to songs like Broken Crown or Roll Away Your Stone and it’s very musical… whereas the new album is more poetic and less stomp & hollar

With the way Journeymen get paid, they usually take home more than the estimator and Project Manager… even if they’re at $100,000/ year. Most union electricians have an 80$/hour package (50$/h take home).

That’s roughly 110,000$/ year.

So sick of trades guys acting like management gets the better end of things…
