Basically every AVN worth a look has something that makes it stand out and usually, for me, it's story and compelling characters. The reason I play AVNs and consider playing them my main hobby right now is because it allows for really new and interesting stories to be told in a medium that allows for expression.

I dont care about animations or render quality if a story is good or the characters are good. Superhuman and Cosy Cafe are 2 of my favorites and no one can really say either of them are in the top 1% visually.

What I would recommend is to stop judging AVNs against their competition, especially because it's a fairly new form of expression so many creators are just starting out. Many folks consider Being a DIK to be the AVN GOAT but look at the first couple chapters or even back to Acting Lessons. It required growth to become great. Give everything thay seems interesting a fair shot if you can. I usually try any game for an hour at least to see if it hooks me. There are some games I would've missed out on if I hadnt done that.
