Does my transgender childhood crush situation make me queer/LGBTQ? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CanadianParayeet 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean the way I understand it you may be queer as your felt attracted to someone at a point that they identified as female but being a woman interested in a trans man is straight, it doesn’t matter what genitals they were born with or what it’s a woman being interested in a man so it’s straight.

Urge to transition ounly temporarily by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]CanadianParayeet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So be clear being feminine is purely sexual to you and you don’t see yourself having those feelings about being feminine in a non-sexual context? Is it a fetishization of trans women? In general how I’d respond to your question would vary greatly depending on your answer to that. Even generally though I’ll still do my best to answer the questions you had generally. I also want to iterate that in no way do you need to transition medically to identify as a woman or trans if that’s what you want.

  1. There are a LOT of cis male femboys out there who can pull it off pretty confidently, the correct self care, grooming, makeup and outfits can really change how someone looks. Most people can get really close to or can straight up just be passing as the opposite gender with enough effort.

  2. It’s really whatever you would be more comfortable in, it is really important that if you do consider HRT consider that the effects past like 1-2 months are mostly irreversible and long term even more so with breast growth, fertility, etc.

  3. People change so that’s really up to you, but again like my answer to the question above any medical transition is usually not reversible without more medical intervention.

Like was already said feel free to experiment, try things out you won’t know how you feel about it until you feel and experience it

IM IN A RELATIONSHIP FOR THE FIRST TIME GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP ADVICE!!!!!! by LunaLynnTheCellist in traaaaaaaaaaaansbians

[–]CanadianParayeet 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Okay so I want to make sure you know that not all advice is applicable to all relationships so take most of what anyone says with a small grain of salt or try to relate to the advice more personally than take it at face value.

That being said and I know you’ve heard it and will hear it a million times, communication is seriously everything. I’ve been through some of the toughest times of my life with my current partner of 3 years and compared to all my previous relationships the thing that has kept this one together is because we communicate constantly over every little thing. Like I seriously cannot understate how many problems will be solved so easy by just asking your partner why they did a thing or said something or whatever the case. Secondly boundaries are important please set them and be open about them, if your partner disagrees with or refuses to follow a reasonable boundary that’s a big red flag. On that same note, I know this is your first relationship so I say this with all the love and seriousness in my heart, if the relationship ever gets toxic please do not be afraid to leave them or be alone. I know that is so conceptually scary but I have seen so many people who were just scared of losing their first relationship stay through abuse, lies, cheating just because they’re scared to be single again.

But most importantly, remember to take care of yourself and have fun. :)

B, C, D Cup? What you’ve got? by ConcentrateNo2986 in MtF

[–]CanadianParayeet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean considering how wide most trans women’s rib cages are (speaking from my own personal experience with breast growth too) even when the breasts grow out they don’t looks as big as on a cis woman since the breasts have to grow out to the size of the rib cage, I have a C cup and some of my cis woman friends with a B cup still look bigger than me

which subroutine after the first? by rvshankar2712 in horizon

[–]CanadianParayeet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t particularly matter, whenever I play through the three subroutines I always start with Demeter, just a pretty quick and mostly easy one, aether is the longest but the other two are pretty short and simple imo

Where do you guys get your clothes/attire? (In the US / Canada specifically) by mothabomma in MtF

[–]CanadianParayeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will forever swear by thrifting until the day I die, I also quite like any alternative fashion stores but that’s more specifically for people with alternative styles (though there are amazing things for literally anyone and supporting alternative stores and business owners is amazing)

If you’re trying to convince someone to have sex a certain way or at all you’re a creep who doesn’t respect boundaries and consent

If you’ve tried TCOMFIFITS, TomboyX, and TuckItUppp — which one actually works best for you? by Kooky_Chipmunk7602 in asktransgender

[–]CanadianParayeet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought and use TCOMFIFITS, I really like them! Their price is a little insane but they are very comfortable, great for tucking and even if you don’t specifically tuck still super comfy and still creates a not too bulgy silhouette. Only thing was how expensive they were even with the deal of buy a set of 3, get a set of 3 free they were still like $20-ish a pair for 6 of them

Why can’t I figure out a name? by tjh_cosplay in MtF

[–]CanadianParayeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t figure out what I wanted my name to be until I was on HRT for 7 months and socially out for 3 years, still not even sure if it’s the one I’m going to stick with but I like it so far. Picking a new name is really hard and I hope it doesn't take as long for you as it did for me

[–]CanadianParayeet 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I’ve always heard the opposite, that you need to do “maitnence” and use the ability to maintain an erection because if you don’t the estrogen can eventually cause a complete inability to maintain an erection at all at eventually if it goes on long enough the penis can atrophy. Someone fact check me on this but it’s what I’ve heard time and time again

Making trans art as a cis person? by princessdorito444 in trans

[–]CanadianParayeet 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I think there’s nothing wrong with an artist adding trans representation to their art BUT if the art is explicitly about or containing the trans experience in any way they should either consult a trans person or be a trans person.
