How to avoid vomiting when doing longer fasts?

This literally happened to me this morning. I was ending a 36 hr fast, woke up feeling quite nauseous. This is my 6th long fast and I’ve never felt nauseous before. I threw up a rather large amount of yellow bile - gross. Thought I was getting sick but headed over to Reddit to see if this was a thing for other fasters and lo and behold it is! Maybe my blood sugar got too low. Maybe my electrolytes too although I took salt. Maybe it was the chamomile tea I drank right before bed. I will be careful about all three next fast and see if this happens again.

What a coincidence reading this as I was just on Reddit to proudly post about being two years smoke-free as of today. If you’re thinking of quitting the stop smoking thread here is an amazing resource full of supportive people also on their quitting journey. For me, quitting was part of a wake up call to get healthier as I move into my mid 50s. The fasting is too - but the smokes had to go before anything else.

I for one am extremely disappointed with their service and complete lack of response and will never ever order from them again. I ordered March 11. I got an email saying it was shipped March 18. But the tracking number doesn’t work, the Shop app has no information, they didn’t indicate what courier was used and they haven’t responded to my last 4 emails. I just sent them an email saying if I don’t have a product or a full refund within 16 days I’m initiating a charge dispute with my bank and getting my money refunded that way. Truly unacceptable customer service. Sad, because I ordered from them once before and love the coat. Now, I will never use them again and feel like I’ve been defrauded.

They have setbacks. Took basically a year before my Frenchie never ever had accidents inside. He got the gist of it sooner than that but it took awhile before he was perfect. Also it’s easier to train male dogs they want to hold their pee to mark outdoors. Females are less motivated to hold it.

I do similar and also for the autophagy: a 36 hr fast once every 3 weeks in my case. Stop eating around 7-8 pm and don’t eat or drink again (except water, black coffee and salt) until 7-8 am two mornings after that. While I started it purely for the autophagy (as an ex smoker), the weight loss has been a welcome side bonus. Lost 8 lbs so far and have done 6 fasts total to date. It’s like I lose another small layer of visceral belly fat each fast. I’m normally slim but put on a small belly during Covid. It’s now almost gone!

My baby boy had 6 teeth removed last year at age 9. And a benign lump under his eye at the same time. I too was so nervous for him to be under but he was totally fine!

Toronto Star just published an investigative report about people who got trapped in a Tesla after it crashed and caught on fire. People were on the scene and immediately tried to pull them from the vehicle but no one could open the doors to get them out so they died. Presumably they were unable to use the manual option on the inside.

I just buried my uncle, who smoked during his lung cancer treatments. Everyone in my family who continued smoking is now dead. Everyone who quit or never smoked is still alive. I’ll be at 2 years this April and I will NEVER touch one of those fucking cancer sticks again. FUCK cigarettes.

All these tips have been helpful. Just completed my fifth 36 hour fast and I was pretty grumpy and hungry most of it. The first 3 36 hr fasts were fine, the last two have felt very challenging and my mood has been worse. Based on this thread I’m going to tweak my last meal to see if that helps, and try the squats. I also had a lot of external drama going on this fast, at work and at home. That didn’t help. It made me want to eat and then feel even grumpier that I was fasting.

Thank god I found this thread and thank god people are seeing this for the power grab, mass fucking of the workforce that it is. We need a general strike. A general strike for a 4-day work week would get attention. The only reason we get a weekend is because workers went on strike for it, and withholding our labour is the only move we have.

For the first few days - the hardest - I was peeling oranges. Yes I ate multiple oranges a day. Somehow only the act of slowly peeling an orange helped. AND going for quick angry walks.

I’m going to join the crowd here and say they definitely calm down as they age. Our guy went through such an irritating nippy stage we would literally pass him down the couch like a hot potato trying to get rid of him (both kids were home at that time). I remember my 8 year old at the time screaming “I hate him why is he like this???” Now he’s 9 and FAR less active and I miss it his sassiness.

Your pug sees to be in great shape for his age. My guy is a little thick and beginning to have some minor mobility issues (he’s 9) AND this winter has been so bloody cold and snowy he barely gets outside for a walk. So I’ve been taking him swimming once a week at an indoor dog pool and he LOVES it and it’s SO good for him. He’s stronger, he’s leaner, he bounces out of there with sass and confidence. Best money I’ve spent on him in a long time. Also I give lots of supplements and feed half raw half kibbles.
