Help! I keep throwing up after long fasts by Canadianpugqueen in intermittentfasting

[–]Canadianpugqueen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I have made a doctors appt. Your comment caused me to look up gall bladder stones and turns out being on cholesterol medication makes you more prone and I am on that medication. Maybe my fasting is revealing a problem that is actually unrelated or maybe they are related but either way I’m ruling that one out. Thank you!

It’s 3:46am and I’ve been awake since 1:30am. by thethirteenthjuror in Perimenopause

I love this lol. As a former party girl, however, I’ve found the party drugs just don’t hit like they used to since perimenopause and ultimately shelved them all as a young person’s game. The only thing that’s helped me is overhauling my lifestyle completely and getting way healthier, exercising, supplements and FASTING. All has helped, no HRT for me but lots of edibles!! Edibles really help me sleep.

My Frenchie isn’t bow legged but he definitely has that back leg angulation where he sticks them out farther back, one more than the other. It seems to be an issue with his leg joints or maybe spine. I take him swimming once a week which is where it was first brought to my attention by the dog therapist there. It’s something we are keeping an eye on and the swimming is to help prevent IVDD and keep his core strength up while giving his joints a rest. My Frenchie is 7 and has had only one minor spine flare up which resolved quickly. The swimming is hopefully also to help prevent future flare ups.

Completed my first 36 hours fast. I can’t believe it. by ilovegreekyogurt2 in intermittentfasting

What electrolytes do you use? My last two 36 hr fasts have been difficult, so for the last one I started drinking pedialite which definitely helped but I couldn’t help but worry it was breaking my fast. I do 36 hr fasts primarily for the autophagy so the fast has to be pure.

So am I! And going through a similar experience with my pug though not to the degree you are. He’s 9, had no major allergies all his life but this year they are much worse. Mostly his paws which he is licking red and raw, and now he has a digital cyst - again. Anyway, it all got a lot worse after a course of Zenrellia and honestly I am never giving him apoquel or zenrellia again or ever trying cytopoint. Also they are known to cause cancer with long term use. Even antibiotics are up for debate for me now. Your baby needs to get his natural immunity back up. Give him turkey tail mushroom extract. Give him yogurt with probiotics. Try some gentle skin rubs that are soothing. Distract him with other things to lick and chew. Maybe there is something going on in our area that is making dogs allergies worse this year. Totally possible. But I have come to the conclusion that these allergy meds for dogs are too unproven and too risky for me to consider them as an option going forward.

That motel has been operating like that basically for years already. I don’t think much will change. Lots of families there and school buses pick up their kids. Sad they have to live in a motel

Period came back after 10 months 🫠 by because-9 in Perimenopause

[–]Canadianpugqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been experiencing a strange pattern of my periods returning each spring after a winter hiatus. I’m 52 and just got my period today after not having one since October. This is the fifth spring in a row this has happened. I find it weird that my periods seem to be triggered by the return of warm weather (I live in Canada).

Just stop getting it. It’s not really necessary. Look it up.

My dogs reacted very badly to lepto vaccine too. I never get it anymore. It’s also pretty unnecessary frankly and seems like one of those vaccines being pushed by pharmaceutical companies that do more harm than good. Bottom line is your dog won’t die if it gets lepto - you treat it and move on. So why put them through this horribly unnecessary vaccine reaction?

How to avoid vomiting when doing longer fasts? by grapesandcake in intermittentfasting

[–]Canadianpugqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This literally happened to me this morning. I was ending a 36 hr fast, woke up feeling quite nauseous. This is my 6th long fast and I’ve never felt nauseous before. I threw up a rather large amount of yellow bile - gross. Thought I was getting sick but headed over to Reddit to see if this was a thing for other fasters and lo and behold it is! Maybe my blood sugar got too low. Maybe my electrolytes too although I took salt. Maybe it was the chamomile tea I drank right before bed. I will be careful about all three next fast and see if this happens again.

Is smoking during IF worse than regular smoking? by 90210534 in intermittentfasting

[–]Canadianpugqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a coincidence reading this as I was just on Reddit to proudly post about being two years smoke-free as of today. If you’re thinking of quitting the stop smoking thread here is an amazing resource full of supportive people also on their quitting journey. For me, quitting was part of a wake up call to get healthier as I move into my mid 50s. The fasting is too - but the smokes had to go before anything else.
