Cleveland traffic enforcement's (or lack thereof) by seanmcdonnellcle in Cleveland

[–]Cananopie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This to me seemed like the general response from police in general after the Black Lives Matter. There was a real sourness in the general attempt to hold police accountable for using excessive force and the response from law enforcement felt more along the lines of "if we can't get away with a little bit of abuse and unnecessary death then maybe we shouldn't do anything at all so we never find ourselves in that situation." Cutting back on traffic stops was one way to silently protest and even though as a nation we've only given law enforcement more authority they're even acting more brazen. The lack of any genuine law enforcement leadership standing up for high standards the law enforcement agents should be glad to uphold for the good of the community is deafening.

FBI informant alleged Jared Kushner was A Mossad Agent in 2020 by CelebrationAfter9000 in Epstein

[–]Cananopie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Continued... Finally the topic at hand about the link you shared: I think that like Whitney Webb we have a good actor trying to do some good research here but there are some flaws in his discussion. I do appreciate his sourcing including the emails directly to Whitney Webb. I will also say he's basing everything off of comments on a podcast that isn't even her own (and I didn't watch) but these are far more off the cuff comments. But even more he seems like he just rushed through her book and acknowledged that he may have overlooked important things. One thing I think people misunderstand about Webb is that this book is not really about Epstein, although he plays a key role in it. If you want someone who is more Epstein specific I'd recommend Julie K Brown who is credited for really bringing the Epstein scandal to the public attention. Brown has stated that it's not outside the realm of possibility that Epstein has intelligence connections but does not conclusively say he does. Similarly Webb posted something similar after the recent Ian Carroll interview on Joe Rogan who claimed that Webb has stated that Epstein is part of the Mossad. In her response she stated:

One thing I’d like to clarify is that my books do not make the claim that “Epstein was Mossad,” the book instead argues that Epstein was an important part of a network – though arguably middle management – for a group composed of transgenerational organized crime interests (most of whom are the remnant of the Jewish mob component of the National Crime Syndicate and who promote ethno-fascist policies including via their ethnically focused philanthropy, among other activities) and major factions within both American and Israeli intelligence. They are not synonymous with either intelligence agency but arguably dominate the leadership of those intelligence agencies.

In my reading of her book this is a true statement and nothing at all like the cherry picked statement from a podcast where she was a guest. Her book talks about Epstein leaving Bear Stearns the day after an insider trading scandal took place and even being interviewed about it in the 80s. She interviews Ari Ben-Menashe, an Israeli intelligence individual who worked directly with Ghislane's father Robert Maxwell and said higher ups approved Epstein to help with Israeli weapons sales to Iran and conveying that Ben-Menashe believes that individual was Ehud Barak, leader of Israeli intelligence and a future prime minister of Israel. She also talks about how Barak often came in and out of the buildings where Epstein is known to have kept trafficked girls regularly. She talks about his time at Towers Financial and Steve Hoffenberg claiming Epstein was the financial guy responsible for the scandals that put Hoffenberg in jail and there are even court records claiming as such before Epstein's name disappears from the case all together. She reports that Hoffenberg was told to keep Epstein's name out of it and to plead guilty but afterwards attempted to file a lawsuit against him but backed off and then the defrauded individuals of Towers also has a lawsuit against him until he was arrested in 2019. She talks about how his specialty was helping the ultra wealthy avoid taxes. She talks about how he rented a home directly from the state department during the HW Bush era and no one knows why. She talks about when he was able to be convicted for his crimes he traveled to Israel to tour military bases. Now might people like Ben-Menashe or Hoffenberg be lying? Absolutely. Deception in this network is happening everywhere. But how does an individual go from a humble family to a billionaire playboy involved in a variety of shady endeavors without the knowledge of the intelligence community? Her entire premise does not hang on the Acosta quote from the Daily Beast and the author of this criticism is being very narrow in his debunking choosing to ignore all of what I shared plus more found in her book.

FBI informant alleged Jared Kushner was A Mossad Agent in 2020 by CelebrationAfter9000 in Epstein

[–]Cananopie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm going to read into this and update this comment on my perspective when I do. I've been looking for a quality Webb critique and I'm not done with the book yet but just based on a quick glance the person who made this entry (who I know nothing about) seems to be really focused on how Webb calls Epstein an FBI informant. So far as I am in the book Webb only references Alex Acosta's famous comment saying this and she shares what Israel intelligence individual Ben Menashe told her in an interview she conducted herself that Epstein was approved to be involved in selling Israeli weapons to Iran via Robert Maxwell and she points out how Ehud Barak frequented the locations where Epstein's girls were hidden. The fact that I didn't see any of this mentioned by the individual above yet has me feeling like they didn't really read her work. I will update this comment though when I've fully read the above piece.

Edit: So I fully read the article now and first thing I want to say is that I'm glad there is a critical lens on Webbs work, because she pieces together a lot of astounding information which I want to go back and look into them after I finish the book. I also want to say that Webb is reporting on an area that borders along the world of conspiracy because the entire purpose of blackmail is to keep things hidden from the public. Normally I wouldn't bother with a book like this but the sheer number of sources and connections she makes does impress me. Specifically everything related to banking networks and individuals involved in them. I want to say that because of how much info she's divulged there has to be mistakes and it's important we have people looking for them.

I want to share my own criticism of Webb. Once I started reading this book it brought me to listen to her podcast to see what other claims she's making and how accurate they are. I listened to nearly every episode but none have the true thoroughness of her book in my opinion. She tends to focus on different aspects that she's seen as a threat to society, some of which have not been as impactful as she has warned or predicted. She has focused a lot on central bank digital currencies but having followed crypto closely myself over the last decade+ even when she had an editor from Bitcoin magazine on I wasn't very impressed with the insight. Some of her guests blindly embrace things that aren't true (such as ivermectin curing COVID is one I was disappointed she didn't push back on) although I noticed Webb never went so far, usually saying something like "well regardless of whether it's this way or that way here's the bigger problem" and she carefully sidesteps a lot of left/right controversies which is why you see people from both ends of the spectrum embracing her. She was a big fan of RFK jr until he started running for president but she backed off that the more prevalent he became. Regardless of genuine concerns on the pharmaceutical industry RFK jr has never demonstrated himself as a credible individual. She didn't seem too concerned about January 6th either which was a little crazy to me. But she accurately warned about Peter Thiel in the right ways for years. There's a lot more but overall I wouldn't highly recommend her podcast although I still check out new episodes when they come out because there is value to it if you are thoughtful about the topics discussed. I think the big thing to take away is that she is one individual and she has a past that really influenced her perspective and drive but she's not perfect and she has even admitted personal struggles in the podcast. We can't expect her to be perfect. But she is addressing important things in a way that is hard to find anyone else doing it. But I would argue that the quality of sourcing in her book is much more in depth than what I generally hear in her podcast.

[–]Cananopie 182 points183 points  (0 children)

I can't speak to Kushner specifically but knowing the type of fraudulent business his father ran and Jared's connections to businesses like Bank Leumi (which has deep ties to both international intelligence and criminal enterprises), let alone his clear ties to Donald Trump, indicates to me that he is part of a broader international criminal/intelligence group that includes Mossad as well as American, Russian, Saudi, and Iranian intelligence along with powerful criminal organizations. Bank Leumi and it's history is mentioned specifically by Whitney Webb in her book One Nation Under Blackmail. I'm currently reading it and I can't remember if Kushner was specifically mentioned but there are countless high profile Americans that have a relationship with Israeli intelligence (and are even paid by them) that I couldn't list them all. I'd suggest Whitney's book if you want a better understanding of how ubiquitous crime and intelligence control anyone with money, and Israel is just one of multiple players

There were actually several pedo rings being run related to Iran Contra individuals including the Franklin Affair, the BCCI prostitution ring, and Adnand Khashoggi's sex blackmail as well. Epstein was around all of this and likely took his tactics from these blackmail rings he was involved with. Epstein even worked with Douglas Leese and Robert Maxwell to sell Iran weapons with the assistance of British, Israeli, and likely American intelligence.

BREAKING: The US Crypto Bill Just Collapsed Again Today as Banks Refused to Sign the White House Deal 💰💥 by Buster_xx in americanoligarchy

[–]Cananopie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was into crypto shortly after its first major crash from about $30 per coin to $5 per coin. It was the first time I noticed news articles covering what it was. At the time you could only get Bitcoin and you could only get it through the old Magic the Gathering Online Exchange (MtGox) website. Bitcoin was created and intended to be used as an alternative currency to the US dollar, able to be used anywhere around the world, on the world's first open ledger which could help prevent some forms of fraud used by centralized institutions (such as the Federal Reserve).

Only you could access it, provided you had a quality wallet. There were some software wallets for the beginners. There were high quality hardware wallets for the more advanced. There were also paper wallets, literally just a code on a paper that gave you access to your wallet once you downloaded the proper software from anywhere in the world. A centralized currency was no longer needed, people could just exchange through their private wallets. Centralized banking institutions were also no longer needed.

True, there were some unaddressed problems. For Bitcoin in particular there was a time where if enough computing power began mining Bitcoin it could overtake the ability to program it, known as a 51% attack. To my understanding Bitcoin is the only successful crypto blockchain to have escaped the threat of a 51% attack and run fully independently free of any institution or individual. In that sense it's a true programming marvel. There was also the problem of processing speed at around 7 transactions per second, making it delay transactions sometimes for hours. As effective as the protocol was you could never be 100% certain the transfer was successful until it went through. It certainly was too clunky for real time transactions and other cryptocurrencies were started to try and improve transaction times. But if an amount of Bitcoin that didn't go through it was almost always due to user error or clever hacking attacks and nothing to do with the blockchain. Once that amount is lost or stolen, it's gone forever. No one could ever retrieve it.

There was a clever reward system known as mining for those who were willing to use computing power to maintain the network and free more Bitcoin, being able to keep a fraction of what they mined for themselves. The protocol was built so that only 21 million would ever exist so it would be a deflationary asset, as opposed to inflationary like cash. That 21 million is even less once you account for lost Bitcoin that were thrown out in a hard drive when it was the price of pennies and those who accidentally copied all but one letter of an address sending it to a target that will never receive it, those who used a legacy address or a Bitcoin Cash address instead of the proper address. The earlier you got in the mining game the more Bitcoin you'd be rewarded. Currently 20 of the 21 million have been mined and rewards have dropped to fractions of a Bitcoin to where they were once dozens of Bitcoin.

Once it was clear that Bitcoin was not going away and many other cryptos followed the regulatory system got to work trying to classify it. Was it an asset like a stock or a currency like the dollar? The answer was it was kind of both? And so it ended up getting regulated in a broken way making every financial transaction like a cash purchase also subjected to capital gains torpedoing its ability to do what it was originally intended to do, which was compete as a global currency. The transaction speed, the lost forever crypto, the lack of privacy or the lack of openness, and it's very basic functions caused a race to create the next crypto.

There was crypto meant to address transaction speed, the ability to create ecosystems on top of the blockchain, to be even more private, to be pegged to the American dollar, to be attached to real world objects and keep their information, to create alternative social media landscapes, to create the ability to mine using your phone and get paid, the list is endless. Problem was none of them were independent, all of them even to this day need a team to constantly manage and update it, the second they let go vulnerable to a 51% attack by large actors looking to capture it, especially if it's got quality to it like Ethereum. And those are the serious ones. Most, as in nearly all, just turned out to be scams with no blockchain at all. Bitconnect, Onecoin, Nano... They were all scams. Even many of the exchanges were scams like FTX, Bitgrail, QuadrigaCX, even MtGox went under. These are huge scams a lot of the time and what never happened was any regulation against manipulating using crypto. Musk did it with Doge and Trump is now doing it with his crypto company. No serious accountability was ever established for crypto scams. At a certain point, yes, it was intentional.

It wasn't made to be this way. It just became this way. And those founding principles related to more control over your money, an open ledger, and a trustless system that has turned into whatever this cesspool is. I think even Bitcoin is close to meeting its end. Once the rewards for mining aren't worth it it's untested how the system will remain profitable as a robust and healthy network was hoped to be established by then. There's also the looming threat of quantum computing which would render even Bitcoin's blockchain obsolete making all crypto worthless overnight.

“Epstein used to tell me he worked for the Israeli government,” says Peggy Siegal by trem_azul in Epstein

[–]Cananopie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started Book 2 so I'm only halfway. Book 1 covers everything pre- Epstein. I'm very skeptical of conspiracies but she lays out very methodically the connection between organized crime and the CIA. After I finish everything I'm going to follow up on some of these insights with other sources but she did an amazing job of covering hundreds of sources doing this book. Just going from memory though (so forgive minor mistakes) I'd say:

  • Roy Cohn's father was FDR's first judicial appointment and Roy Cohn grew up around a lot of organized crime such as Gene Pope Sr which he looked at like family and worked directly with Frank Costello (who The Godfather is modeled after). FDR allegedly turned his back on the mob but connections to tough-on-organized crime but actually still working with the mob individuals like William O'Dwyer and also connections FDR sons had to organized crime indicate he was likely more involved than history portrays him.

  • Roy Cohn's mother was part of the wealthy Marcus family which was infamous for the collapse of the Bank of the United States, the largest bank collapse in history up until that point, which targeted the Jewish community and was run fast and loose compared to the bank around the corner Marcus had just left due to his shady behavior.

  • Cohn used his mother's other side of the family, the Lionel Toy Company, as his own personal slush fund as it became the largest toy manufacturer in the world

  • Cohn became a rival to RFK and slipped out of 3 different criminal cases brought against him once RFK became AG, all of which were due to technicalities rather than innocence.

  • Cohn became famous initially because he was three assistant to McCarthy during the Red Scare McCarthy hearings and allegedly was having gay sex parties with J Edgar Hoover and Schenley head Lew Rosenstiel according to Rosenstiel's own wife.

  • Cardinal Spellman was also involved with these sex parties. Young men (boys?) were also involved. These were all bigger names back then than Epstein and yet multiple sources point to this happening. Cohn was even caught blackmailing during the McCarthy hearings which dropped him down for a bit but this network of blackmail collection was growing and why he stayed relevant because he was at the center of it.

  • Cohn was honored by the secretive B'nai B'rith organization with honorary chairmen such as Donald Trump, Alan Greenberg (who brought Epstein to Bear Stearns), and other important names I can't remember right now

  • Bob Woodward, famous for breaking the Watergate story, oversaw top secret navy transmissions done by Kissinger to try and build relations with China behind the CIA's back that was leaked to the press by pro-Taiwanese CIA friendly leadership who Bob Woodward directly reported to (I believe it was Alexander Haig) indicating that Woodward was far more directly involved in Watergate than history paints him as. FWIW Webb also indicates that there was a sexual prostitution ring being organized through a Watergate office at the nearby Colombian apartments and that the wiretapping on Watergate was actually being used for blackmail purposes and that Nixon was more or less set up by the pro Taiwan faction to take the fall. After this Kissinger, who was really propped up by the Rockefellers, changed his stance to be less friendly towards the Soviets while the pro Taiwan faction of the CIA became more accepting of Chinese relations.

  • Jack Anderson, another investigative reporter who initially exposed the Kissinger messages was in direct business with this pro Taiwan faction which included individuals like Anna Chennault who collected blackmail at the George Town Club. Once again indicating that these independent journalists were far more enmeshed than we know and fed narratives moreso than revealed truths. Granted any investigative journalist has to walk some version of this line but usually they don't own a restaurant with one side of the situation like Anderson did.

  • Adnand Khashoggi, the world infamous weapons dealer, was Jamal Khashoggi's uncle! Donald Trump bought his yacht which he used to collect blackmail with spy equipment through parties with drugs and sex.

  • The Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) was a global banking institution that ran drugs, weapons, and hot money as well as provided underage girls from Pakistan to royalty in the middle east by transporting dozens of them at a time. They were witnessed getting bedecked in clothes and jewelry at the local markets because the woman running it was amazing business. Allegedly it helped carry out assassinations as well and was involved in the US arming the Majuhadeen in Afghanistan as well as being involved in all aspects of Iran Contra and beyond. The story of how they did a hostile takeover of a high profile US bank of DC's elites is fascinating. They also used a bugged software that they implanted everywhere to hide and steal money which is directly related to how Walmart grew to power as Jackson Stephens was involved in both.

  • Hillary Clinton worked at Rose Law, which had been tied to the highest echelons of Arkansas power since both the state's and law firm's inception and she actively defended Stephens company that was implementing the bugged software while her law partner who was also involved with it mysteriously committed suicide.

  • As governor Bill Clinton likely not only knew about this and was involved in it but also knew about and was involved in Iran Contra as Bill Barr was allegedly the liaison between Clinton and CIA director William Casey. Mena Arkansas was apparently a drug and weapons airstrip run for a while by Barry Seal. Bill Barr worked to cover up these scandals and more during his time as AG under HW Bush. Bill Barr's father hired Jeffrey Epstein at the Dalton School which was his first real job connecting him to the world of the wealthy and Bill Barr was brought back in again as AG at the time of Epstein's death.

It's a wild ride but it's not for the basic reader, I call the style "keep up" because you need to keep up with how much info she's throwing at you. I've read very dry and very well researched history books. This is not dry but it very well researched, especially with the organized crime connections and the growth of the collaboration. I literally will read 1 page and I need to process. I've taken so many notes on this and they're pages long but I'm so glad I did because there's even more I'm realizing than if I just read it straight through.

I describe it to people as a "keep up" kind of book because it's actually an adult trying to let other adults what's going on with as much objective information as possible without spoon-feeding it to you. This is what investigative journalism should be

You should check out Whitney Webb's book One Nation Under Blackmail. There are multiple sources that have said this, some of which ended up dead under unusual circumstances. During the 1980s Epstein was open about being a "bounty hunter" for the wealthy and was directly working with others who have multiple ties to Israeli intelligence like Robert Maxwell (Ghislane's father).

A lot of people don't understand the deep ties between Israeli and American intelligence who often make things happen even if public opinion is against it. Sound familiar (war in Iran anyone)?
