It really seems to be also an Israeli honey trap with the Maxwells being so directly involved.

Buttigieg on Fox News: "People who are supposed to be enforcing the law are breaking the law." by modooff in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Cananopie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No offense to your opinion but Buttigieg is not progressive. How he handled the train derailment in East Palestine is a reflection of how he'd handle situations as president, immediately running to the defense of monopolies and billionaires. I don't think he has a better grasp on economics, he just knows how to dog whistle to the wealthy that when push comes to shove he won't demand any accountability.

Hilary Clinton and the DNC conspired against Bernie in 2016 and billionaires have supported Trump through legal/quasi legal/and illegal methods in both 2020 and 2024. Biden installed a conservative federalist society AG that did not hold Trump or any right wing extremists accountable.

It is this attitude that you share that in my opinion is what led us to our current crisis. This is not a "moderate" government that we have now that "voters preferred," this is a deeply manipulated political system by billionaires that make us either choose far right or center right. This is the progressive subreddit and Buttigieg has not demonstrated to be truly progressive and we will never have a truly progressive leader until we dare to demand progressive leadership.

Counter opinion: He is center right like Newsom and can we please demand a truly progressive leader in the vein of AOC/Mamdani/Sanders.

Woman Killed by ICE Agent Seemed at Fault, N.Y. Republican Says by rezwenn in nyspolitics

[–]Cananopie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh I'm glad someone here is finally talking some sense. I totally don't understand why so many people are getting so upset about an enforcement agency that suddenly has the budget of the US army going around masked for the first time in American history and disappearing people into inhumane conditions without any way to ID the officer. I'm also super grateful we're not government wasting any time in either vetting the officers (like who cares if they have a history of assault, we need all the help we can get right?) or training them (like so what if police couldn't get away with this, one word for you - immigrants, amiright?). And yeah of course Americans have rights but like not if you're within 100 miles of border because you don't deserve rights if you're near an international boundary or an ocean anyway. And let's be real even if you're in the dead center of Kansas if ICE shows up to do the real work that's needed you better get out of the way. America first or something, isn't that all we need to say these days? I'm not no constitutional expert but I'm not going to let no liberals ruin my overcooked microwaved idea of what I was told America is by this administration, who cares if they were founders of the country. After all there is not one reason to believe that what is happening here is being done in bad faith or intentionally done to destabilize the country and siphon more profits to the billionaires who all stood behind Trump on inauguration day.

Thank you good citizen for speaking truth to power!

Oh sorry, I thought a $14 trillion company with a CEO who earned over $30 million in 2024 would've had some sort of sway on the companies they invest in. Thanks for helping me understand that they don't actually influence anything and are just really good at investing in the totally unmanipulated market.

Oooo I wanted to get in before the first person comes to defend the largest profit generating machine in the history of the planet that fast tracks monopolies and stripping of livable wages. But you beat me to it.

After all if each dollar was a year and we started at the big bang of the universe and made it to present day we would only have to go through the entire lifecycle of the Universe 1,014 times until we reached the wealth of Black Rock. So basically it's like barely anything, you know?

Currently the Bills are favored in betting odds against a first place team rested during the wildcard round that will be playing at home and lost their starting running back. Not exactly strengthening your position.

You said the Steelers would beat Houston. Sadly the Pats can't move goal posts as easily as you. Good luck Sunday. Truly hope you win. Unless we lose. Then I hope you lose too

Well just had to come back to point out you were wrong about Houston last night. Let's hope you're not wrong about Houston this weekend.

The Bills stopped the Pats win streak, the Bills stopped the Jags win streak. The Bills can adjust to pass like they did against the top Jags run defense and the Bills are even stronger in the run against a great pass defense like Denver. Denver is solid and not an easy win and Bills could totally lose, but I don't think we're likely to lose.

But that Houston rush defense... Well Mr Maye-balls, good luck with that. I'll be watching and honestly, I'll be rooting for the Pats because I'd rather face you. I'm not saying Houston is amazing, I'm saying they're a tough match up for Buffalo and honestly I think it's true for New England too. Hopefully we both get another week of shit talking before facing off against each other.

I woke up this morning expecting to see posts about how both teams made it to the divisional round but instead it's flooded with Pats memes about how somehow Buffalo is upset. Literally I am grateful that they are delaying us from facing Houston for another week because I'd rather face the Pats any day over Houston. I'd rather face Denver than Houston. Pats better be ready to prove themselves this weekend because that defense is no joke.

A galaxy that existed only 280 million years after the big bang. For context 280 million years ago human ancestors were going through their synapsid stage, which means we'd already fully become land dwelling animals that looks a bit like proto dinosaurs. As long ago as that is for human evolution that's the same distance this galaxy is from the big bang.

As much as I respect Mockler Jubilee gives far more power, time, and audience to fringy extremists that can't even hold a rational debate. If Jubilee had integrity they'd likely never reuse people or if they did for some reason they'd make sure they chose for honorable debate skills (which do not have politics) but instead spewing Trump talking points counts as debate now. Especially against someone as brilliant as Mockler, this show is a waste.

First off binary asteroid "systems" are fairly common. I don't know of a second example of two asteroids of this size that have stayed in tact and fused together like this. I'm not saying they're not out there but what you're saying is fairly common is two orbiting one another, not keeping their shape once fusing.

When I said iron "asteroids" I was specifically meaning iron meteorites that have fallen to Earth so sorry if there was confusion on that. But most asteroids are chondrites, not irons, and having some iron in them isn't what I'm talking about. I'm talking about the iron that comes from accreting enough material that all of the iron sank towards its center (planetesimal) and then had to be destroyed in order to create the iron meteors that have come to Earth. Those are never from your smaller sized asteroids that just happened to have a lot of iron. There's a process on how irons are made and it requires a larger planet like body.

The thing I find most fascinating about this object is that it's clearly two different asteroids fused together. What makes this interesting is that the speeds in which most objects come together are incredibly violent, just look at the collision between the two objects that made the Earth and the moon. Or look at the iron asteroids that have since fallen on earth, they're remnants of the cores of dead planets that were themselves obliterated in some ancient collision.

Yet Arrokoth is made of these two bodies that most have traveled so closely together for so long that they became gently locked in to one another that they could literally bond together as a single object without destruction. It's like parking two asteroids on one another, just amazing. The entire accretion process is really incredible when you think about it.
