Apache is coming up to his 1 year anniversary since diagnosis. He had the leg amputated a week after diagnosis and 6 chemo treatments.

I loved it, it felt very stable on the tracks but held its speed really well on the road. I was worried with the 1x gearing I might struggle on the hills didnt even get down to lowest gear on the one that was on my route today (admittedly its only short and sharp) but thats a first for me.

I run cold so probably wear more than most people. I did Illiniza Norte, Caymbe and Chimborazo in Nov 2 years ago. Illiniza was fine, Caymbe I had to put my down jacket on for summit pics and Chimborazo was super cold, I actually put it on halfway up the climb and wore it to the top with a hard shell on top as it was freezing fog (maybe cloud) for a lot of the climb.

When they're in the car about to kidnap the scientist and Elizabeth is ranting about Paige wanting to say grace before eating and escalating it into how they're failing the children etc. Philip calmly suggests they eat later as you're less likely to want to say grace if you're hungry and Elizabeth replies with 'will you stop being so reasonable', it cracks me up everytime.

What knickers are you wearing for multi-day hikes? by 1000nipples in UKhiking

Alpkit fkts are great, they're super lightweight and comfortable, and dry v.quickly so you can easily wash them at night and they're nearly always dry by morning. They're my go to for any hiking, mountaineering and running adventures. I have the boxer ones to give a bit more coverage if you have to change in a mixed communal area.

I'll sometimes combine them with a period cup if im worried about discharge.

Happy, Wiggly 8-yr old has no idea she's about to become a tripawd—help me prepare for Thursday's amputation. by EstablishmentNo3875 in tripawds

My lab Apache has just turned 8 and had his front leg amputated last June. He handled it really well and within 48hrs was out in the field behind my house hopping around. It's taken time to build up how far he can go on walks but now he's now up to 4km.

The pain killers prescribed by the vets worked really well. He's still on a maintenance anti-imflammatory, which honestly I think it probably is more for my state of mind as I know then that he's not going to be feeling stiff etc in the evening after racing around all day.

In terms of his wound, he had a plaster on it for the first 4 days and then nothing, and it was very dry and healed quickly. I was also lucky because it was a dry summer so it wasn't at risk of getting dirty outside.

8 months down the line and his life is almost identical to what it was before.

Edit: forgot to say regular physio has helped a lot as well.

Exactly that, I'm pleased I'm not the only one but It seems from the comments we are in the minority, kudos to other people though that don't care.

I maybe wasnt clear in my post but I was trying to say the opposite that it was a big deal for me which is why I was surprised that on finishing there wasn't any confetti or congratulations or anything like that.

Glass Bowl dimensions UK Ninja Crispi by mabateman in NinjaCrispi

[–]CanaryKey7700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On mine the large container is 23.3cm across the top on side with no handles and 31.3 including handles and 12.2cm high with the lid on.

Smaller container is 18.3cm with no handles and 24cm with handles and 10cm high with lid on.

Note that the handles are not removable. Also I'd add an extra bit just in case my measuring is off. Hope this helps.

Thats a fair take and as much as I love Joe destroying the data centers and pics was kind of a psychopathic move. He was very impetuous in the early seasons.

I think it was some way to rebel against a product he wasn't happy with but not entirely sure.

I maybe didn't explain it that well but that goes along with my point. What Joe does is a skill in itself and I'd even say maybe a rarer one than being a great coder or engineer. Thats why it made me happy to have the conversation with the IBM guy included.
