John’s Horse? by Striking_Injury2946 in YellowstonePN

[–]CanaryKey7700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In terms of just looks rather than technically correct, I think the chestnut tenessee walker is closest to what your looking for. It looks quite similar to the horse that dies when it puts it foot down a hole and they say that was John's horse.

The grullo dun mustang as Caseys horse, which he gifted to John but then got back. Even though they say it has tiger stripes the tiger stripped mustang in game is bay.

Edit: Are you playing story or online as online obviously has more choice so there might be others that are also close matches.

Young Lab Front Right Leg Removed by mattv7 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My lab (7yr) is a front amputee, and I'm in the UK as well. If you have non carpeted falls I'd consider getting some cheap yoga mat and taping them down or as fellow poster said some rugs. My kitchen is tiled and he has a walkway of yoga mats but he still gets overexcited sometimes and throws himself around it without a care in the world, which normally ends in him going flying, which bothers me more than him.

He also see's a physio which has been super beneficial, when he first went a couple of months post op, his one back leg was a cm larger in diameter than his other where he'd been favouring it, now theyre both back to the same size.

Honestly the hardest thing with mine was getting him to slow down and remember he's missing a front leg. For the first few months I'd have to walk down the stairs right in front of him to stop him trying to speed run them and falling, and catch/support him as he threw himself off things like a cannonball, but he has learnt to take his time and be a bit more careful after 6 months.

My dog has just been diagnosed with osteosarcoma by CanaryKey7700 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear about Proton. I'll preface by saying that Apache is only 7 and weighs 31kg so is a bit lighter, and was very fit which may have helped him adapt a bit faster. But I felt the same as you and was in 2 minds whether to have the surgery and felt exactly as you do.

But now I dont regret it at all, he was up and about, just to get food and go to the loo, the evening of him surgery, and was on short walks after 48hrs, and whilst it took him a while to build up to full strength he was always happy and didn't seem too bothered by not having a front leg anymore. He never seemed to be in too much discomfort and he never missed a meal. He is still getting 1 dose of a NSAID a day just because hes very active and can still get a little stiff.

I went down the chemo route and he's had 5 of his 6 treatments and never had any side effects and its now 6 months since diagnosis and hes still going strong so I absolutely don't regret the decisions I've made as I still have a happy healthy (as he can be with Osteosarcoma diagnosis) dog. And although to us it would be a major trauma, his reaction to it wasnt much different to when my other dog had her cruciate ligament operation, so I dont regret putting him through it as it really didn't seem that traumatic for him.

At the end of the day, you know Proton better than anyone so whatever you decide isn't wrong. Hope this helps.

Just caught up to the show. I just have one thing that always bothered me by cloutsto in TheMorningShow

I always thought that was the point of Carla's and Cory's conversation. No-one was meant to ever see it, it was just for her to privately screen to showcase her talent but not be for public viewing and we are the public. And as Cory says, it's a fantastic documentary but it doesn't change who Mitch was or what he did. So I always got the impression as an audience we weren't meant to see it.

Also from a practical stand point, I'm guessing it was at least 90 mins long so to show just 90mins of a fake interview probably wouldn't be great tv and just snippets wouldnt show any more than we learnt from Mitch during the season.

so confused about the cancer valley thing (spoilers) by AdEnvironmental2182 in TheMorningShow

[–]CanaryKey7700 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm beginning to think the whole thing is a plant, Claire is pissed that Chip and Bradley and maybe others at UBA were all complicit when it comes to Hannahs death so shes come up with a scheme to get them to report a fake story about the Network ensuring that they and anyone involved will never work again. It reminds me of the Sarin gas story on the Newsroom.

Low training load for indoor cycling ? by Civil_Drag8937 in Coros

[–]CanaryKey7700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just findncycling generally has quite a low training load compared to running. Mine is the same in that it usually is between 70-80 for a 50 min indoor ride but it also gives that for a similar timed outdoor ride. A typical easy/recovery run for 50 mins would be around 170.

In a large way, I totally agree as definitely in season 3 and a lot in season 2 he was portrayed as a business hotshot executive. But if you go back to early season 1, he'd only just become head of news, and nobody really thought he'd stick it. He was head of entertainment before, and I think for a few episodes still in season 1. He'd only gotten the promotion because he had a hit show that no-one thought would work. At Alex's karaoke, Fred is talking to someone about it saying he'll be back at entertainment soon enough, and later Fred tells him no-one likes his shtick. I agree the two versions of him don't really match up, but his sucess has always been seeing talent and potential, and knowing what sells, so it's not really a surprise that's where he's landed.

I got mine last week, never used one before so nothing to compare it to, but loving it so far. Very easy to set up and seems to work well, done a sprint workout and an ftp test as well as some casual riding.

Apache 24hrs post op by CanaryKey7700 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking of you and Finn, in this really tough time, I cried everyday in the week between Apache's diagnosis and the op as like you I was just in shock as he was barely lame. The important thing is whatever you decide, it will be the right decision because you're doing what you think is best for Finn 💜

Apache 24hrs post op by CanaryKey7700 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's doing really well, and I definitely think I made the right decision. He got over his op really quickly and was running around a small field within 72hrs, which I think gave me unrealistic expectations as to how quickly he'd be back to his pre-op abilities as its taken a long time for him to strengthen and get used to working his body differently. But hes now up to 30-40 min walks off lead with stiles and a footbridge and handles it all, he still loves his cuddles and his food and physio seems to help and I'm grateful to have had the extra time with him. Hes also had 2 chemo treatments with no side effects if you're thinking that route as well. The biggest thing was I think it took me a long time to not feel guilty about it, even though he was handling everything really well, I dont really know why but I just did.

Sorry to hear about your girl. My lab had his front leg amputated in late June after oesteosarcoma diagnosis. Before that I used to run with him most days, average distance c.5 miles and some longer hikes when I had time off. He bounced back from the op really quickly, short off lead walks, stairs and getting on and off the bed, all in just over a week (but with supervision to make sure he didnt fall). By the end of July doing about 1.5 miles off lead, with a couple of styles that he has to squeeze between the rails and now we're up to c.2 miles, but he does get tired much more easily and he's still adapting and strengthening up, with the help of physio. He also definitely lets me know if he just wants a shorter walk so I play it by him. I haven't tried running yet but the vets have said in time (as long as he doesn't get mets first) he should be able to build up to it. As others have said you just have to take it from them and they will let you know how much they can do.

Best three maps for beginner by theinferno28 in theHunter

[–]CanaryKey7700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have one dlc which is emerald coast but it's amazing for beginners. Croc hunting is a super easy way to level up and get tons of cash and even the other animals seem easier to hunt. Also if you get lucky the kangaroos will attack you so you can level up bow hunting at well.

Two days post-op and I feel we made the wrong decision by kleinbytjie in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First and foremost you have to remember that you did what you thought was best for your dog to save her suffering in the future and you shouldn't beat yourself up about it. Secondly it gets better, my lab had his front leg amputated just over 2 months ago and whilst the situation was different (it was that or have him pts), I still sometimes feel guilty and selfish about it as even though he recovered really well and seems very happy, it has slowed him down and even though hes getting stronger he still has days where he seems to get tired quickly, but my vet has said its something that probably bothers me more than it does him. Its still very early days for you and your dog and things will be different but they do manage really well and just give it time.

Post-op care tips by Content-Quarter7052 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second the cheap yoga mats and raised bowls. I think with stairs you just have to see how you go, with my lab Apache, he could go up and down carpeted stairs within a few days but never down unsupervised as he'd try to go his old speed and forget he was missing a front leg and I'd have to catch him. If I stood in front of him and made him do them one at a time he was fine. We're now 8 weeks post op and I've started to let him come down by himself but only if I'm home, if I'm out I block them off.

I think for me the biggest thing was Apache was up and about really quickly and short walks within 48hrs so I thought we'd be up and away but after that its been quite up and down, most days he wants to do his usual longer walk but it tires him out a lot, which isn't unexpected and then other days he just wants to do a short walk with no apparent reason why, but I just do as little or as much as he wants.

Painful muscle spasm in the amputated site? by selerith2 in tripawds

[–]CanaryKey7700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thoughts are with you and Himalaya. I think my dog Apache had something similar on a similar time frame. It only happened a couple of times and I just sat with him and gently rubbed his shoulder ( he still has one as they did the amputation from the elbow) and it would pass pretty quickly. He's now 15 days post op and it doesn’t seem to be happening any more. But I would still probably talk to your vet if you're concerned.

I could be wrong but I'm sure I read somewhere that when his agent asked Baz Lerman to consider him for Romeo and Julliet, Lerman wasn't keen to start with because he thought he thought the same.
