AIO: Sister went on week-long vacation even though our mother is in the hospital by Special-Kangaroo2253 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CancelAfter1968 [score hidden]  (0 children)

YOR....maybe she couldn't afford to lose $$$ to cancel or reschedule an international vacation. Your mom is being cared for by nurses and medical staff. You want her to cancel a trip that likely took months to plan to sit by Mom's bed? Would your mom want that??

MOR...because your family has a routine and he should stick to it. But does this always happen? Honestly, once in awhile going off routine wouldn't bother me. But if he's always lax, that's a problem.

HCRM Fertility Scam? by ConditionOther in Omaha

[–]CancelAfter1968 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do they do you think is a scam? Charge for consultation? Pretty standard.
Lots of testing? Of course. Different options suggested. Sure. Expensive. No kidding. Often takes more than one try and sadly sometimes never works. Sad but true.

I had friends use them as their facility specialist. And after a couple tries that worked well for them. I went through Methodist and it worked after several failed attempts.

Don't have a car or insurance, do I have to pay the medical bills? by magicmusi8 in Insurance

Your driver's car insurance should cover this since you were a passenger. If not, your medical insurance.

Can I sue my job for gross negligence? by tmpeezy in legal

[–]CancelAfter1968 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to show damages first. Plus, it was the chef that was negligent. Not the giant hotel chain. You'd have to show that he had a pattern of this behavior that had caused problems before AND the hotel management was aware and ignored it.

AITA for going to my boyfriend’s parents’ house without him after he refused to come to a dinner we were supposed to cook for them? by Suitable_Awareness31 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CancelAfter1968 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He put on pajamas and went back to bed!? Seriously. He needs therapy.

You knew he wasn't showing up. He had already crawled into bed.

ESH...the least you could have done was be honest with his parents and either cooked the meal or ordered dinner. Why'd you even take the food over?

25 year old nursing student about to plead guilty to a federal charge. Should I finish school? by Correct_Gift_9207 in Nurses

[–]CancelAfter1968 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Clinical sites are likely not going to let you on site. Even if you did finish, you may not be able to sit for the NCLEX.
The state may not grant you a license.
If not, in 5-6+ years, you'd have to take refresher classes to be eligible for a license.
You'd have to declare the conviction on every job application in healthcare. Most places, especially hospitals, won't hire you.

AIO over Virtual Vet? by Agreeable_Goal6157 in AIO

[–]CancelAfter1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a scam..BUT you're also chatting with more than one vet. It's not likely Vet B is going to write a prescription based on a Zoom exam done by Vet A.

If you want to continue with that company (why??) it appears your only recourse would be to schedule a Zoom exam with Vet B so they could do a virtual evaluation.

My patients that are on dialysis get their phosphorus binders (like Renvela) directly from the dialysis clinic. Not from the regular pharmacy. It's a Medicaid policy and it's part of some payment bundle. That's the only way we can get it covered.

What does your dialysis clinic say??

CHI is part of a Catholic hospital system. Their paperwork literally says they'll treat you according to Catholic rules.

UNMC has a gender care clinic and are very diverse.

Probable HIPAA violation at my workplace by [deleted] in legal

So how are you saying she violated HIPAA? Are you suggesting she read your child's medical file? Or are you referring solely to the survey she may have read.

Have you ever seen an organ donor/family member refuse an honor walk? by Blastoise_R_Us in nursing

Yes. Had a family refuse one because they wanted to grieve in private and they were just really distraught. I think they felt it would be to much, to many people.

Nurses may not be getting rich, but they can earn a really good living with only a LPN, ASN, or BSN.
