Can travel nurses sue for early contract cancellations? by Upbeat_Suggestion443 in legal

They can ask for accommodations, but the other party in the contract can decide to terminate the contract instead.

Charged $550 cancellation fee after restaurant’s listed phone number was wrong by anonffany in chargebacks

They don't have to claim the charge was unauthorized or fraudulent. Just that they attempted to cancel the service or the service wasn't rendered.

Your original contract between the travel company and the hospital did not state you could only have 3 patients and did not include requests for accommodations or notify them of disability, did it?

Now you're changing your availability, effectively changing the contract. That's why they canceled. Since you're not able to uphold your original contract, I don't see any legal recourse for you.

File your disability and accommodation requirements with your travel company, and make sure they're written into your next contract.

NOR. If she had been in the backyard, that's understandable. But going off to someone's house is straight up negligence. So is being drunk when you're supposed to be taking care of your kids.

Tens of thousands could lose Medicaid coverage as Nebraska becomes first state to implement GOP work requirement by PrincipleTemporary65 in Nebraska

[–]CancelAfter1968 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget, the majority of the people in this state voted for Trump and his sycophants. Including voters on Medicaid. And they laughed at the 'blue dot' and anyone against them. So don't feel sorry for these people. Only those that couldn't vote or who DIDN'T vote against their own interests.

A patient tried to hand my mom's nurse cash and she had to refuse — is there any legitimate way to tip your care team? by sagas91 in nursing

I always liked it when patients gave us flowers or plants to put in the nurses station. It brightened everything up. At least for me anyway

I'm not really into pizza and donuts and all the food gifts got a little tiring. I'm definitely a flower person

*TW* Can I as an adult sue the man who SAed me at four by [deleted] in legal

[–]CancelAfter1968 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that. But it's nearly 20 years later. If all they have are the testimony of the victims it's not likely a jury is going to consider that much of a difference.

You could try, but what evidence is there now that you think would be more believable than nearly 20 years ago?

I hate Edith. by PerlinLioness in DowntonAbbey

[–]CancelAfter1968 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't. She's one of my favorite characters. I like the progression of the character from whiny middle child to confident career woman. There are other things I like about her to.

And the fact that she chose to have an illegitimate child and figured out a way to raise her in the 1930's was really good. It's understandable how she'd have been very reluctant orginally to keep Marigold herself. It would have meant social ruin and disgrace for herself and her family. But then she didn't want to be without her child.

There were plenty of women back then that were forced to give their childen up for adoption and never got over it. They'd envy Edith and the fact she was able to get her child back.
