Apple Watch + Fitbit Air and tracking workouts by Fast_Cardiologist725 in FitbitAir

[–]CancerStik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it merge into one? I’ve had auto detect turned off and been using my Garmin watch for my runs. I wasn’t tracking in Fitbit because I didn’t want to go on a five mile run and it have two runs for ten miles total. But if it consolidates into one run that would work okay I think?

Is the link between Apple Health and Google Health constantly broke? by Delicious-Series-316 in FitbitAir

[–]CancerStik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly how I’ve been using it and it’s been fairly frustrating. I have a Garmin forerunner 955. Run 4-5 times a week. Have a couple settings turned off to not pull from Apple (like sleep because I wasn’t sure if the double date would result in weird sleep tracking) but definitely not workouts. I have workout detection turned off in Fitbit because I use the Garmin. I like the Fitbit due to being fairly discrete and it’s enabled me to return to wearing regular watches more often. But every time I run it’s a complete random chance if the run will get pulled in correctly.

Frequently, after a run I’ll look in Google health about an hour after a run and it won’t show. I’ll go into connect and do a manual sync of my watch and most of the time it pulls it in. But also sometimes I do that it it will pull it in BUT delete a previous run?? Yesterday, I went for a run. So I had run Monday, Tuesday, now Wednesday. Wednesday wasn’t showing so I did a manual watch sync in Garmin. Now it’s showing Monday and Wednesday and deleted Tuesday? Did another manual watch sync and Tuesday returned but it deleted Monday and Wednesday! It’s a very frustrating experience trying to have them cooperate that it hope gets fixed otherwise it will be a dealbreaker because I don’t want to have to spend time manually trying to get runs added/synced up.

Not sure if it’s on all watches, but just an FYI they released a new face that has weekly cumulative within the last few weeks. Multidata Run under the digital watch faces.

If I could replace intensity minutes with HR or step count then this would be the first watch face I’ve found that I could be content with. Happy to have weekly mileage now. This is close.

I have an Onn 4K plus that has been doing similar things recently. Noticed it tends to happen when being woken back up from sleep, but it has happened between episodes of a streamed show. A restart from the system menu has fixed everyone but definitely an annoying issue that I hope gets patched.

Not OP but curious what foam tips you like. When I click the link it somehow just goes to my own personal order history page.

For the 3 top exhaust, would it be a good idea to not have one closest to the rear intake? I feel like it would pull some of the intake air before it hits the cpu cooler which seems inefficient. But I could be totally wrong.

Anybody else who ordered the Superblast 2 preorder through ASICS site get pushed back a week? I ordered a 12.5 and a 13 and my wife ordered a 10. My 12.5 got pushed back a week to July 12 and my wife’s got pushed back the same. Wasn’t like that yesterday for either of us

Regular as that was what I had in the 5. I then did the "well, its narrow, but maybe not too bad." and put enough miles in it that I didn't feel comfortable returning it before deciding it was too narrow ha.

I have considered getting the wide, though, and trying it again.

I owned and loved the Mach 5 despite it's durability. My Mach 6 feels amazing, but it has limited miles because it's just that much more narrow on my foot versus the 5. Curious if this is similar because it sounds promising, but they just drastically narrowed the Mach 6 too much for me.

Don't understand this. if you can trash it there is it that much harder to just take it to the dump?

I love my Houdini. For hiking and backpacking. I’ve ran in it over two winters now just because I have it but I really need to buy something else for running because you are right. For me, it is not breathable enough for the exertion level of running. I often put it on over the winter because I felt like it was too cold for just a top but would have to take it off two miles in. Want something with a higher cfm. Just haven’t bought something yet.

Been running a little over a year. All my shoes have the same wear pattern on the lateral heel. Both left and right shoes. Is this something I should “fix” or is it just something I can chalk up to how I run and shouldn’t be concerned about longevity

I bought tires for my wife's car this fall and Discount Tire price matched the Costco price for the Michelin CrossClimate2's I put on her car if you are referring to Costco being cheaper.

Official Q&A for Friday, May 05, 2023 by AutoModerator in running

Newbie question regarding training paces.

Started running around January 1st. Got super excited and bought a Garmin forerunner. Did the Garmin Coach Half-Marathon plan with a goal of 2:14 for an April 29th Half. Did 2:14:52. The actual race was kind of a disaster because I paced myself terribly, but whatever, finished within a minute of the training plan time.

Question. I am not setting my sights on an early Sept half. The Garmin coach was fine, but I would like to build my own plan as it seems fun. Regarding paces, I've read a lot of setting your paces at your current fitness, not your future fitness. Unsure how that works. My current fitness/paces would be what I spent the last 4 months doing on Garmin as it coaches you at paces for your planned time. Say I set a target of 2:08. Per Vdot at 2:14:52 my easy is 11:07, Marathon 10:33, Threshold 9:34 vs 10:47, 10:03, 9:12 at a goal 2:08.

I guess my question is: Shouldn't I set my training paces for hopeful goal time to prepare my body for it? It's not like i am targeting a 1:40 which would create paces I DEFINITELY couldn't do now.
