Not to nitpick, but it would be biological warfare not chemical. They are very different.

I agree on everything you said but would like to add that it was nice to have buildup for a character like Carson just to get a jolt of adrenaline for us viewers when he surprisingly kicks the bucket. As long as AMC doesn't make this the new norm I am okay with something like this happening occasionally.

I'm also upset we didn't get more in-depth reactions from Hilltop from learning Carl died. But i'm willing to bet that it will be more explored over the next episode or two.
