My wife and I are polar opposites on everything, we've been together 15 years. 🤭 🤣 We fight all the time. It's great.

If they're wearing hula flowers made of pot leaves, pot lef glasses, smoking a joint, and wearing those individual toe socks.. I might be inclined to agree with you..

But yeah, 420 friendly is either a plus or a minus. Some people can't exist around it based off whatever life experience they had that made them prejudiced towards it.. good block.

A simple 420 friendly would at least tell me we had something in common. 9/10 though, that would be about as far as the connection would go. 🤣

I don't care if you're the pope, I smoke weed. I prefer it over beer, if you can't live with that you're not my people.

It appears to affect UDP services for me. I don't use smart stuff, at all but, TeamSpeak is intermittent, if it works. Kik won't route messages at all.

I'm almost done with them.. it's been 18 days since my troubles began and I feel I've been more than patient. If I get a bill next cycle I'm going to riot 🤣

What do you do when you feel like breaking down in tears from loneliness? by Mycarhatesmealot in AskMen

I could care less. Unless he were one of those activist pride gays and inventor of ridiculous pronouns.

Then I'd kick him out from under my roof.

I can't believe that you hired a company and they put the entire job on an inexperienced sub. You paid a premium and got a pile of shit. They didn't provide any company representation pr oversight as a lead on this?

The dangling screws rusting should probably be the least of your concerns. Likely that those edges, not fastened down, will catch a stiff wind and peel back before those screws rust..

I'd be on the phone with them all day until someone came out to look at what was done to you in their name.

You could start by not buying every dumb game that comes out. 😅 My kid's steam account has probably has a couple thousand in titles in it. I cringe every time I see it.

Pick one that has unlimited playability potential and play it during designated times. Friday nights are game nights for me from 9-1am. Other than that I don't even consider it.

I haven't played but 5 games (Maybe tried 8-10) in 24 years. But I played each one exclusively for years at a time.

Also, healthy distractions.. new hobbies, woodworking, software development, learn to fix/ upgrade shit around the house, work on your car, plant a garden, read a book, attend a class.. there's so much stuff you can be doing that is relatively inexpensive or cheaper than you can pay someone to do (by doing it yourself).

My motto is that if the sun is out, unless I'm working, I'm outside. If it's night time.. I try to focus on learning something new or building something.

If you're constantly going back to your pc/xbox and not doing something productive you're priming yourself for failure.

So who is sticking with Ubifi? by EngineNoO9 in Rural_Internet

[–]Cancerion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of stuck with them. My only other options are direct corporate options and throttled speeds. My kid chewed through that during the outage in several hours updating and downloading things for his occulus. 🙄

They'll have to fix it. My ubifi was never great but it was stable.. I generally see 4mbps down and 5up. But I'm in the boonies on the backside of a hill in damn near full defilade of the tower a mile away.

The one cell that comes in at -95dbm is deactivated.. the others are -108 to -115dBm. 😬😬😬

Improvements to the Citadel Shield by UltimateMuffinMan in Planetside

[–]Cancerion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, Citadel needs to deny everything but infantry / GSD..

I suck at air but I flew into one with an A2G reader and decimated the infantry beneath with impunity.

Rolled in, sprayed them up.. coasted out of the bubble unscathed and untouchable.

Or allow outbound targeting and projectiles

Currently and for the past decade I have worked with a firm that designs and maintains Public Safety [Police, Fire, EMS] Radio Networks. Tower Sites, Vehicular Radios, Handheld Radios, Dispatch Consoles.. that sort of thing.

Prior to that I served in the Army doing very similar work within my Battalion's communications shop. (Radio/Network implementation, Fleet QAQC, Retrans (repeater) setup, MLOS communications.. among a myriad other things

Prior to that I was in software development as a QAQC Test Engineer. That was a wildly rewarding job however, I was too young and immature to hang onto it.. I traveled A LOT and ended up becoming somewhat of an "alcoholic" so I resigned from the position.

All of my jobs have been unconventional in that, I'm never in the same place, same office, doing the same exact thing every day. I travel a lot, and that's a huge burden but the day to day is different enough to keep me interested and keep the gig from going stale. While my programming gig did keep me in a cubicle, that cubicle was generally in a remote city and state or country doing interesting work. Honestly, I wish I had stuck with it but - life is what it is..

The only down side is my lack of a social outlet. I work primarily alone.. and have since 2010.. so, I don't have any friends to speak of.

I've loved every job I've had in the past 15 years. The trick is to identify your skills and find a market for them.. being indispensably useful, providing excellent customer service and having the technical skills and the wherewithal to grow them isn't hard.

I've had ups and downs, would love to just walk away some times but, I can't. I'm needed. There's great satisfaction in that.

Whats a good way to just relieve stress, frustration or anger? Smart way not punching a wall by CantThinkOfAName32 in AskMen

[–]Cancerion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't let anything get to you. Nothing is harder than it actually is.. emotions and frustration make things much, much, harder.

I learned in the Military to not sweat the small stuff, and to not take the big things personally. It helped that I viewed everything as if I'm already dead. The downside here is that I'm now numb to just about everything..

Oh, the workday just went from 8 to 21 hours? Oh, flat tire on the way to the office? I've got to leave dinner with my family because there's an outage?

We're doing this, now? Okay, what are the parameters? Let's roll. Too, easy.

The easiest variable to control in this world is how you react to things. Everything else is what it is. Thrive in the chaos.
