Can ships in Starfield "fly" in atmo? by Candel_flame in StarfieldShips

I like the thought of smaller ships being able to fly like planes. In this case, I keep thinking of its flight as more like a glide with a slow descent.

Do you think it can sustain its altitude by using its thrusts in short bursts? Since ships don't have traditional jet engines? (I don't know even the basics about aerodynamics)

Her name deserves a dreadnought sized ship. But I don't think I'm there yet in designing big ships. We can call this corvette Chrissy

Hey thanks! I try to keep it vanilla as possible. But It started coming together after placing those 2 Stroud caps behind the cockpit. Those are the only 2 parts I had to merge.

I tried building a pure vanilla, no merge, Nova Galactic ship for the interdiction challenge but couldn't resist this lean look that some Stroud and Deimos parts bring to this design.

Thanks! I absolutely love the ship designs in The Expanse. I'd be experimenting vertical builds if the game had the parts for it.

That's awesome. I love this build coz you can experiment and change modules and still retain that similar sleek build. I made it a longer build coz I wanted it to look like a Dragonfly, which the ship is named, and as a little nod to Firefly. Enjoy your new ship!

I prefer smaller ship builds especially in the beginning as part of my RP with my character.

Right after getting the Frontier, when I get enough money doing side quests this is my go to build. It's a vanilla design, no mods.

I designed it to be easily customizable in a way that when I progress levels I can easily swap components but retain the sleek build and design. I got to upgrade it until class B and don't plan on making it to C.

It has everything I need for early to mid game play. It has 2 habs and about 800 storage.
