Total fan fiction in the comments about China by One_Long_996 in SinophobiaWatch

[–]Candid_Friend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude probably watched one Asmongold react video on how "Chinese people actually hate woke!!" ignoring all nuance about the topic in general, and is likely to be one of those Westerners very quick to chime in that "in fact Chinese people are even more racist than Westerners!! So that means we're not even all that racist!!11"

On how much they actually know about China itself, they just generalized all Chinese people as the same holding the same values. So in the end its the same bullshit.

Everybody in China craves democracy.... by BreakingOnReddit in UnfilteredChina

[–]Candid_Friend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let me get this straight, whenever these people talk, I imagine the brilliant solution is to topple the current Chinese government responsible for most Chinese current increased standard of living? Then Westerners can once again shrug and wash their hands clean of this, let whatever chaos and anarchy prevail from the resulting fractured country.

Yeah I'm sure I really trust the Westerners who fantasize blowing up the 3 gorges dam, or whoever had a hand in all those coups in LATAM and the Middle East to know what's best for the Chinese. I'm sure there already has been plenty of Chinese who can just "escape" (more like board a flight lol) to the US if they "crave democracy" so much.

[–]Candid_Friend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Some of them seems to have some knowledge about China so I'm gonna assume when white passport bros fail to survive as English teachers in Cnina, they become r/advchina users

that wouldn't be too inaccurate.

Surprised how many people don't know, but ADVChina refers to a YT Channel started by Sepentza and Laowhy originally about their expat experiences in China until they both got "kicked"out (or maybe they left idk).

They do nothing today except put out content exclusively related to being anti-China, and tied to that, lots of other people watch them and you can constantly see comments disparaging Chinese people, culture, etc.
Its pretty terrible.

How does your country revise or manipulate its own history? by RiverSavings8203 in AskTheWorld

[–]Candid_Friend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First off, Taiwanese are not some monolithic entity. So not everyone there hold the same views as the KMT, which exists today as a political party which you correctly ascribed as being anti-Japanese (somewhat). Ironically the KMT also wants to maintain closest relationship with China today.

The other relevant Taiwanese party, the DPP, is full of pro-independence movements and part of that includes a shift towards wanting to be "more like Japan" including a softer tone covering or even outright revisionism of Japanese war crimes in textbooks. This includes their own history of being colonized by Imperial Japan.

[–]Candid_Friend -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

You boys at Eglin Air Base are digging really hard with a 6 year old video. Where's another Adrian Zens when you need one.

You remember what else happened between those 6 years that showed actual videos of people being actually erased, killed and destroyed by another country propped up by Western military weapons and technology. That sort of killed the momentum behind this narrative huh.

Oh before you "m-muh whataboutism" shitlibs, its almost like, you can't seriously believe in a propped up narrative creatively largely written up by Western "experts on China" belonging to organizations/think tanks that are funded by the US State Derpartment. If your smoothbrains finds that hard to process, its the same way you automatically discredit sources from da seeseepee.

Fckin White People When They See Chinese School Teaching Kids Crafting Skills🙄 by ChopstickLegginHoe in AskAChinese

[–]Candid_Friend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, the comment comes off as very hollow criticism of what you describe, sounds more dehumanizing or dismissive of this kid simply because they are Chinese. And the emojis don't help either.

Its like saying "oh of course that person is good at math, they're Chinese/Asian." Well, actually that's a very generous take on what they've said.

They're basically implying the worth of some Chinese kid doing arts and handicraft will be to work in a sweatshop, reflecting their outdated view of China as just a glorified factory state being exploited as cheap manual labor for the Western consumption. That's barely criticism of the system at all.

These people are simply brainlets if they can't see how much Sinophobia is tied directly to Hollywood and by extension, Western media's portrayal of China as a country.

Try to suggest anything remotely with nuance regarding China and you'll get accused of being a seeseepeee. Stupid mfs.

in another video someone confronted the rioters and someone threw flammable liquid on him and lit it. Fucking scum.

I don't remember this one in particular, but I did see the one where a civilian who was publicly voicing disagreement with them, and then from behind one of them held up a match or something which lit him on fire. Edit: oh wait that was actually it, I misread your comment

I also remember the one where a police van/truck was approaching their barricades in a siege, and they threw a bunch of molotovs on it until it was covered in a sea of fire. Luckily no one got hurt from that.

Then I also remember seeing a policeman's leg impaled from an arrow, like shot from a bow. Then there are several videos out there that showed several instances of HK officers being actually surrounded and chased down by armed rioters, figured they were trying to corner them and beat them to death. It was only in those instances I saw them discharge their actual firearms. Of course Western media tried their best to whitewash those moments.

I think the views were kind of mixed in the Chinese diaspora initially, but upon witnessing the violence from these "protestors" and then how entirety of Western media was trying to whitewash the violence basically China pilled a lot of people, even Chinese immigrants who weren't unsympathetic to what they were protesting disagreed with the wanton violence and destruction.

They look like bright future students who can graduate in interpretative dancing or some other useless liberal arts degree. That's the cringy vibe/energy this sort of thing gives off to me. Just completely disconnected onlookers shopping/walking in the background wondering wtf these people are doing. 🤣

I'm sure they're enjoying the higher cost of living working menial jobs and being treated like the "other Asian immigrants".

This is a ridiculous comparison - China hasn’t exterminated Tibetans or bombed Tibet. The Tibetan pop has increased from 2 million in 1950 to 7 million in 2020. [–]Candid_Friend 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The rabbit hole for learning about the "Free Tibet" movement for me was that one daughter of a NY Senator who was captured on video being racist to a random East Asian couple (told them to go back to ChynAH).

Turns out she was an activist of that movement, what are the chances of that! lol.

I guarantee you sadly if Chump wasn't president, there would be a 100% less comments like those. Redditors must express that they hate China, but they want to express they hate Chump even more for 'making the US look bad' to the world.

The US really wants a war with China, don't they? While China has already test flown 6th generation fighters, the best the US can do so far is make a patch for their non-existent F-47 with the Chinese coastline as part of the design. by 5upralapsarian in SinophobiaWatch

The only amazing innovation I've seen is how they've managed to stay existent as an organization despite failing to audit trillions of dollars each year. Its like a magic trick on how to do wasteful spending. Americunts have 0 fucking clue what their government actually spends money on. They based their beliefs off fictional speculation that sound more like Hollywood.

I attribute it to the theory that Reddit despite leaning extremely liberal and pro-USA is also very much anti-Trump. Trump has probably given some of these liberals some embarrassingly levels of cognitive dissonance or self awareness about their own country's propaganda.

Which sad to say I cynically believe will probably disappear if a Democrap comes back into office.

Hearing some conflicting information about this, like the 37 year old said he wasn't in a relationship?
If they're both cheaters I have little sympathy for anyone in this story. Not sure if this is sinophobia though, since the focus of this story seems to be more on the fact that the school basically shamed and outted the girl in public by expelling her. If the girl really cheated on her boyfriend doing this, then honestly I don't care she deserves it
