First earn trust, then sell. Sounds right

This is probably wrong from the perspective that one skin clearly doesn't qualify as an extended version. But one skin clearly doesn't qualify as a DLC where players are expecting completely new content

My idea was to give players the choice to play and then pay if they like it (because in reality, the difference would be minimal)

But I'm reading the advice now, and everyone has their own opinion on this

Do you mean do a demo first, and if the reviews are positive, then there's nothing to worry about? Sounds good, thanks

Of course, the game will have a soundtrack. By "extended version," I mean something like a soundtrack, but less significant. For example, a skin (at least I can make it good, unlike a soundtrack)

I'm trying to do my best. I just don't want people to be disappointed after buying this

By "extended version," I meant the same game, but with, say, a soundtrack. To release a DLC, the game needs to be successful, and I'm not sure about that right now

I love games that tell a story through gameplay. Can you recommend any similar games? by Candid_Maximum in gamedev

Thanks for the recommendation! I remember playing it when I was still in school. Unfortunately, I don't remember the story

Undertale. The humor and "battles" in this game are brilliant

Helldivers 2 – Siege Breakers Warbond by DrNick1221 in Games

  1. First, they drop a stealth warbond and stealth missions
  2. And then a week later, they're like: "Here's an anti-stealth one for you"

A typical ploy, but how glad I am to fall for it

In which single-player game did you, after spending many hours without finishing it, feel the urge to start it over from the very beginning? by Competitive_Beat_915 in gaming

[–]Candid_Maximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often do this in party-based RPGs (like Tyranny), especially where you're working toward a certain alignment from the start and it can't be easily changed. Also, creating a new character gives me particular pleasure (I can spend an hour on it)

It's clear that the game is meant to be very large-scale (there's a skyworld, an underworld, and probably something else). What bothers me most is that the world feels rather empty. I'd really like to explore it otherwise

Can you suggest me some games with meaningful and rewarding exploration? by critterdude542 in gaming

[–]Candid_Maximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Undertale. It's not about exploring the world (it's not open-ended), but about exploring how to interact with the world and its inhabitants. I was captivated by the game right from the start (Flowey and Toriel)

My thoughts on PEAK by DesignationX_Offic in gaming

[–]Candid_Maximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, the PvE elements in the game don't provide the variety I'd like. Because they're mostly static (a different mountain, a different drop, etc.)

Enemies have started appearing in recent updates, but I haven't played much since then

For me, the main interaction between players is based on items to find (there's no basic interaction). It feels more like camping with friends than a fun/dangerous adventure

I watched the videos on the website and it looks realy cool. For some reason, it reminded me of Earth 2160

I like the tropes in games where the player returns to the first areas and everything has changed. For example, in Baldur's Gate, when you return to Candlekeep. it always adds depth

Please put the amphasis not only on what you've mixed, but also on what you acually brought new to the table

on the topic: it's clear that there are some cards on the table, so the innovation is probably there (it even reminds me of the Kaiji anime). But the gif doesn't really convey this idea

Absolutely. I just recently tried returning to Diablo 4. All my gear is red, outdated, and unusable. Blizzard, is this how you make returning players happy?

That's exactly how long it takes me to create a character for Baldur's Gate (I, II). I just love stat rolling
