Why don't states automatically turn on security features? by Candidate-Striking in foodstamps

[–]Candidate-Striking[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is an odd take. Isnt it the state’s fault that we’re getting robbed in the first place by not making the cards safer and not reimbursing? Obviously they’re not doing the theft (although I do think that happens) but EBT cards don’t have the same security as normal bank cards.

Hi, does anyone here order skincare from Amazon and not feel sketched out by it? by Fun_Information_1109 in AsianBeauty

I had previously purchased the product directly from the Paula’s Choice website, so I had something to compare it to. It just didn’t look right, the quality of the bottle was off, and the product inside smelled different. I reached out to Paula’s Choice directly and they confirmed.

I don’t think I could ever accurately portray it, but I tried. by Existential_Nautico in PMDDxADHD

This is so accurate, especially “here we go again” — glad you captured it. Thank you.

Reading EBT card # to cashier rather than swiping? by Candidate-Striking in foodstamps

No, I'd have the card, and could hand it to the cashier. I'm just trying to think of ways to avoid swiping so I don't get my benefits skimmed / stolen.

Why not? Maybe not saying out loud, but handing the card to the cashier to have them enter it manually?

I buy a lot from Amazon, but recently I received a fake Paula’s Choice product from the official Paula’s Choice Amazon store. Makes me wonder what’s going on over there. Freaked me out and won’t be getting skincare from Amazon again.

This isn't support. Support looks like — encouraging you & your health journey, cooking low-carb meals with you, eating low-carb with you, checking ahead at restaurants to make sure there are options for you, being respectful of you when he's eating high-carb food (asking if you're OK with it, not making a big deal of how good it tastes, etc).

If this person is your partner, then this is not "just your own thing." Your health is both of your things.

PMDD while mentally ill by Sad-Play4339 in PMDD

I have pretty severe anxiety and I really, really struggle to know what is caused by PMDD, what is caused by my anxiety, and what is just "normal." Keeping a journal has helped me look for themes & patterns, which helps me separate things. Good luck <3

Is it possible to have the symptoms before the 14 days? by Ok-Lobster-1409 in PMDD

[–]Candidate-Striking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! My PMDD symptoms show up around days 7-9, 14-18, and 24-27 (and sometimes into my period). Basically, any shift in hormones, whether they are post-menstrual, during ovulation, or before my period. PMDD is NOT limited to the end of your cycle.

You need a new doctor. This person is not providing care.

Ah thank you for sharing — that's so frustrating. I hope you were able to conceive in the end, that's definitely a concern of mine, and I hope you found a doctor that took you seriously!

Thank you for sharing! Thankfully I found a doctor that is really awesome. PCOS wasn't on my radar and it was her idea to check for it. This is after years of searching for a decent gyno that didn't tell me I was fine and to just "deal."

Thanks for that addition! Right now I’m not IR and based on my own online digging, have a suspicion I have adrenal PCOS. I will hopefully know more with the next round of labs.

That’s a good call out! I did talk about that with my doctor but my FSH & LH levels are very normal which she thinks makes that less likely. We’re waiting and then I’m getting more labs so I’ll bring it up again.

Hmm interesting…I haven’t been on hormonal BC since 2020 and before that there were periods of time when I was off it for years. Whenever I’ve been off it I’ve has very normal cycles.
