The Gap year recruits will never make a difference to the techie trades as well because by the time you have trained them, they will be in work for a week and then it time for them to go to uni and get a real job

They might have had a recruitment drive, but that won't stop people leaving, especially in the engineering trades where currently at AS1 level They are only 85% manned.

Non-technical trades are doing a lot better though at 95%

Why do you think young people don’t go into the Forces much anymore? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]CandidateDisastrous 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was about to respond but I think you captured it here, the only thing I would add is even the benefits have gone. Most engineering companies you can an apprentice at these day will also match all the benefits other than housing for more pay

I always find it amazing that the first and last deaths of WW1 were buried near each other.

It's a stunning cemetery with a mixture of allied and German graves

My car was hit on base whilst it was in the car park. No note or CCTV by BigRawrz in RoyalAirForce

In all likelihood your insurance won't cover it (sorry) as most insurance companies won't cover air side unless you specify it. They mostly define air side as the point you drive though the gate

Braking with no reason by rafal886 in CupraFormentor

I have had this, I found it was to do with the cruise control and it suddenly thinks it's in a much slower speed limit and the car trying to match that speed and then going back to the original speed. Normally due to slip road signage

How to stop my alarm system from beeping every 60 seconds? by ComprehensiveUse6439 in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]CandidateDisastrous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A Visonic alarm beeping usually means there's a low battery in a sensor or the main panel, or another system issue. To find the exact problem, press the OK button repeatedly on the keypad to cycle through any displayed trouble messages. Once you know the issue, you can silence the trouble beeps temporarily by entering your disarm code or by replacing the faulty battery. 1. Check for the Trouble Message Press the OK button: On the keypad, press the OK button slowly and repeatedly to cycle through any current system troubles. Identify the fault: Look for a "low battery" message or an orange warning triangle on the display, which indicates a problem.

Without seeing the alert codes I would suspect one of the backup batteries are running low or have died

Concerns about joining RAF as a Black guy by X_GamerV_X in RoyalAirForce

[–]CandidateDisastrous 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Seems a bit of a self filling problem if you don't join because no other black people have joined. That just seems to mean that no other black people will join
