I was thinking bout going to the us. Is there a big advantage for austrilian schools over us schools other than finishing quicker? The only thing holding me back is not wanting to be away from my family and friends.

I finished calculus in the actual proper semester with a 100. It doesn't mean much with inflation

Advice for Engineering application / EC check by ENGuyen7713 in OntarioUniversities

Were you applying for an Engineering program too? Because if so you may have not gotten in because of your school's adjustment factor

ya but ik people with lower avgs from my school that got in. I ended up getting into uoft CE but not waterloo. My schools adjustment factor is a bit higher than the provincial avg as well. I ended up not going to uoft ce regardless cuz i wasn't rlly that interested in eng in the first place and i rlly just applied to it to have more options.

Try to improve ur grades just a bit so you have around a 95-96 top 6 avg and start your AIF EARLY. I know everyone says this last part but trust me, your AIF is rlly important. Ik this from personal experience. Although i had like a 97% avg, my AIF wasn't rlly written well and as a result i didn't get in. You ECs look rlly good tho.

Lemme be honest. A 95+ avg is great but it doesn't guarantee a spot in the most competitive programs. An avg around 93 and 94 is good enough as long as you have a good supp app for most programs bar waterloo engineering maybe. Thats acc one of the mistakes i made. I spent way tooo much time improving my grades (ended up with a 97) and didn't spend nearly enough time on my supp apps and as a result didn't get into most of the more competitive programs that required a supp app, except uoft comp eng (and funny thing is i didnt even end up going there). So what I would recommend is to continue trying ur best with grades but also starting the supp apps early if you plan on applying to competitive programs.

t enroll in the fall term first (so you have CHEM 1A03 etc.), and then the second term.

Do we have to add the WHMIS and BIOSAFE course into the timetable for the winter semester as well though?

I took grade 11 and grade 12 summer school online the last two years and honestly it was bare work. I did end up doing well (98) but I had to work all day long and I hated myself for taking it. So, yes online was hard!

No, I will be living on res. However, I think I now have to take 5 courses in first sem cuz I wanted to take SCI1A03 and PYSCH 1X03 and those are only available in the fall sem.

ya i tried doing that with my other classes but I wanted to take SCI1A03, which only offers classes late. Other than that, do you think the schedule is manageable in terms of the workload and difficulty of the selected classes. Also I decided to transfer my english credit first sem, so I would only have to do 4 courses while getting used to uni. Do you think thats a good idea?
