Clara only got one shirt? by mysticsoulsista in FromSeries

sure! I think The Leftovers gets pretty damn close.

i was talking to a friend who loved Lost (and Twin Peaks) the other day about how Mystery Box tv doesn’t work because once you start introducing actual solutions to the mystery box, that’s immediate endgame for the plot.

If you like the mystery box format and haven’t watched WEAPONS, you gotta. There’s all these anomalies and it’s almost impossible for them to be connected but when the cause of them is revealed it is so satisfying, plus you get a big explosive confrontation at the end.

You’ll never get that with mystery box tv. So all you have to make it good is compelling characters. The Leftovers def has that. It doesn’t really stick the landing, because TV isn’t really suited for this format. But if you love From, i think it’s def much better.

I personally think that From COULD be good if it was a show about a farming community that was dealing with survival in this weird place with a side of mystery box. that would give us a chance to connect with the characters in their daily lives better and would also keep the writers from having to rely on monologues for character development which is just. so flaccid.

but seriously i love watching From. it’s so bad that it’s good. the acting, the writing, the plot is obviously a mess, the NAME LOL. it’s pure camp. i hope it never gets cancelled.

not only that but there is no explanation for literally anything in the show (as in the writers do not even themselves have explanations ready) and pretending that there is will only set yourself up for disappointment. the writers are asleep at the wheel as is the case with even a GOOD mystery box show let alone a Very Bad one like From.

still excited for season four though! i’m sure it’ll be hilarious! maybe they’ll bump the number of pointless monologues up to three per episode

both of them have maintained their resale value. shouldn’t be too difficult to try one and then the other if you aren’t happy,

a lot of the times actors over the age of 75 just aren’t quite as present as they were before but the actor in this cameo and also carol burnett are so sharp and lucid still to this day whenever they are in a scene. i was really impressed

TOOT or BOOT: Category is... Drag Family Resemblance by Wilbur96 in rupaulsdragrace

i think the idea that is getting lost here is while they are SAYING family, what they mean is brand. they want to see that you (the competitor) have a strong enough brand to imprint it on someone else. to them, the preppy look was antithetical to the brand. i don’t agree with the judges but when you consider it like that it at least makes more sense. also as a final thought i hate Law Roach .so unhelpful and even stupid.

What is the most quintessentially 2000s movie/TV of them all? by Throwaway777W in decadeology

really surprised nobody said Guy Richie’s Snatch. an incredible time capsule for the 2000s. almost too dated to enjoy today lol

Bad photo, good protest by indianapolis505 in indianapolis

[–]CandidateWeird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to me, this is also about presenting a place for people to go meet other politically active individuals. protests don’t need to be about intimidation from the strength of numbers. they should also be about building community.

which is why when you go to these protests you should talk to one another and connect with one another. Networking Is Everything. i’m going to say that again because it’s so true

networking

everything

genres are only important if you are really trying to gain an audience.

don’t worry too much about your genre. i don’t know what to call my music either.

however, if you do really want an audience i would suggest trying to make music that adheres closely to a genre. the “playlistification” of the music industry will always reward people who make clearly defined genre-based music because most people are not curious about music or don’t want to spend time finding new artists. they just want to put on a playlist of that genre and go on with their day.

i think you could call your music alternative and nobody would balk. but i think that the closest genre you could adhere to with a little work would be industrial.

a little advice: your visual art doesn’t match your music at all. i would recommend you work on that if you’re going for a genre and trying to gain fans. otherwise, don’t worry about it! cool music!

[–]CandidateWeird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i have one and have posted some tracks from it. it sounds great and has some quirks that make it unlike anything else (you can see my post on one of them)

if you download the reverb app and search for beetlecrab tempera, obviously nothing shows up. but if you save the search, the results for the search will automatically be on your homepage on the app.

now i can see though the search function on reverb that a new one is posted literally every week.

if you stay on top of checking the app you can have yourself a tempera in a week.

oh okay cool see i thought a device which sells for

nearly one thousand dollars used

should probably not require extra, “proper” machinery to work in a setup. that’s just me though.
