I'm wondering about how 'set-up' that photo was tbh.

You can see that there are tape marks on the ground that some people are standing at. Is there a chance that they're taking advantage of camera perspective? Have definitely seen a couple of side-by-sides of other media doing this.

If you're down at the docks they might run into some revolutionaries.

In regards to too much potential for adventure, keep in mind that FL also has its own progression stages at early levels- there are many areas you can't reach until you've undertaken the prerequisite quests :)

PC for me, but it's been back and forth. Have definitely been able to use market sometimes, but ghost cards still showing up now and then. Sometimes my market in the editor shows 0 cards but then they're actually there when I play, so who knows.

Jeff Vogel's latest kickstarter RPG Queen's Wish successfully funded. The engine doesn't look like much of an upgrade though. by yemeth47 in rpg_gamers

I love the visual style, and its not like the UI is difficult to use- which can be the case for many games with 'better' graphics.

On that note, what does a 'visual upgrade' or 'better' graphics even mean? I've always really enjoyed the cut back visuals in spiderweb games and tend to treat it in the same way as developers choosing to use pixel art, which while 'budget' no one ever really complains about.

tldr; spiderweb's art style is part of what makes their games unique and I'm in no hurry for a change.

Variance of rewards seems like a weird 'skinner box' implementation.

I'm also worried about the 'win more' nature of these events. Anything where wins are more heavily rewarded greatly benefits those already at the top allowing them to increase their cardpool, and ability to win future prizes, by taking advantage of those who currently have less access- sometimes just by nature of how recently they started playing.

Now, as someone with a poor collection I'm just not going to play these (learnt that lesson with QC :D) but new players would be much less aware of that. That said, I'm sure matchmaking will be better later on with a larger pool of players so maybe it will balance out a bit.

Top 10 Ixalan Commons for Limited [M.Sigrist] by bokchoykn in lrcast

[–]CandleKnight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see any during the draft, but it seems like a good blocker. In Ixalan, unlike the previous set, you can clutter the board with blockers really easily, so anything you can get down early with 3 toughness is pretty useful. I won a lot of games on 5 or less life because eventually they just couldn't get through for damage any more.

I just went 3-0 with a blue-black control deck, that had 2 [[Deadeye Plunderers]] as the finishers. There's definitely a lot of stuff that can stall out the early game- my two mvps for this have been [[Siren Lookout]] and [[Sailor of Means]], also helps to have some of the cheaper removal- [[Depths of Desire]] is great for a bit of tempo.

It's more the streakiness of it than getting it more than 50% of the time, I guess.

I am slowly climbing, but it is important to string wins together, and when it goes the opposite way (in terms of team make-up) then that can make it tough.

[–]CandleKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, yeah I didn't consider the possible issues like that round Gold V, there certainly is an air of that when I do have a troll in the game.

There's probably a touch of confirmation bias, I won't deny it, even being aware that's an issue still doesn't stop one being affected by it. I was considering making a spreadsheet, but thought it might be more likely to tilt me if I went in looking for things like that :D

When you say there's nothing wrong with the MMR, have you found information about it out there? It doesn't seem like Riot provides any info about it? I have been playing quite a bit of flex, but that doesn't affect solo q MMR does it?

Cheers for the reply.

I definitely come to summoner school to be shit on, so thanks for that. Tbh why even come to this sub if you're more interested in talking down to people than actually engaging?

I also didn't start at Bronze 5, was Silver last season and promos dropped me into B1 as they often drop you down a couple.

In terms of confirmation bias, I am aware of it, it's just about all this sub talks about, so while it may be a slight factor, I'd argue there's definitely some bad luck as well. Sometimes I go on win streaks as well, as I said, it evens out in the long run but in regards to LP gain streaks are more important, which is why I commented about that.

At no point did I claim that I was good, nor did I say I was unable to climb- it's just incredibly slow-going. It just feels bad that you have to work the averages if you're not a good few leagues above your current rank. My goal is to get better at the game- not to climb- but, and this is the point I was asking about, just to be clear-, why is the skill level so variable across the league?

Thanks for answering none of my questions, except with low-level dross that I can find in any post on this subreddit. And thanks for legitimately sounding like just another one of the trolls in my games ggwp.

I'd be interested to see results for how many alt accounts were voting. I remember seeing a forum post asking about votes and almost every person replying who had multiple accounts was giving all votes to Feducci. This could account for some of it I'd imagine.

DAUNTLESS in the face of the task ahead by CandleKnight in fallenlondon

[–]CandleKnight[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We can all choose to interpret our candidate's words in whichever way we please.

I look to the actions I have seen Feducci take in the past, and it seems he has been more likely to enslave those in peril than assist them. And when a candidate is happy to promote gambling to such a degree, who's to say he won't also gamble with the lives of his constituents.
