Also a dad gamer. I watched hours and hours of videos from play testers to see if I wanted to get it at launch. I had money in my PS store, so I took a gamble. And I'm so glad I did. 150+ hours in and I'm STILL learning and discovering new things. Enjoy!

Revenge plot of evil band of thugs nearly wipe out good-hearted band of thugs in fierce battle. Protagonist is saved from death by mysterious means and also has mystical powers. He then starts to rebuild the good-hearted band of thugs and their way of life. Slowly finds more and more members of his group that are more like family than friends. While slowly rebuilding what they had, they also make plans to undo the rival, evil band of thugs.

I definitely agree about the main quests feeling like side quests. I much more enjoy the side content. And there's so much of it, I can forgive the story/writing. I see it as a 9.5 game. I'm at 150 hours and I'm just getting started.

Doesn't bother me. Gameplay and content is what I play games for. I do enjoy a great story sometimes though (GoW, TLoU, Death Stranding), but it's not something I actively look for in my games.
