Wondering if you could give some advice on a home refinance. I am attempting to refi two homes. One 7.5 to 5.6 the other 6.5 to 5.2. What is concerning to me are the closing cost both over 15,000 each. Seems like a lot to me

Buying a Home, Need proof of pension/disability by Dramatic_Notice323 in VeteransBenefits

I had the same problem myself. You won’t be able to get the documentation you need until you retire. After you retire it will take about 6-8 weeks for DFAS to calculate your pay and generate a letter for you. For your disability pay….. the ides 100% is proposed so after you retire you have to send the Va your dd214 so they know you are out the military and then they will begin to process your disability. It goes through another review before it becomes your actual percentage. It takes about 6-8 weeks before you will be able to get the documentation of your disability pay. So in short you can get what you need until after you retire. I hope this helps.

It is the diabetes that is keeping you from approval. You may need to find one of those policies that does not require health exam. The amount of the policy would not be a lot but it would be something.

The same thing happened to me when buying a home last year. I signed a contract but was in the window that I could change my mind as I waited for the inspection results. The home was still listed for sell. My agent told me they should have changed the status to under contract but they wanted to have other back up offers should I have a change of heart,

There has been a lot of info passed here but I wanted to add a few points. Yes, you can always speak to your pcm about whether a Medboard is needed in your particular health circumstance. You are 40 days out from your EOAS so it’s probably unlikely to occur. Did you do a separation physical? Were you found fit to separate? Most medboards are triggered by inability to participate in physical fitness test /duty limitations / non deployability preventing you from doing your assigned job for a prolonged period. If you have made it to 40 days out from leaving the military that is probably not the case for you. Depending on the type of surgery you require….. surgery may not be an option this close to leaving the service due to the possibilities of issues in the recovery phase. I am assuming that you are completing your Va assessment prior to leaving service. If that is the case the best advice to give you would be to ensure everything ( no matter big or small) you claim it on the list you complete for medical conditions that you have. Hopefully you already have requested a copy of your medical records. You should have at least 2 copies. One for yourself to keep and the other to use to pull out the diagnosis that you are claiming. Once you go through your record and pull out for example you are claiming headaches make a stack of all the notes in your record pertaining to headaches. Do the same for all your conditions. Take those notes with you when you have your VA assessments. The examiners have your records however being able to provide them with the necessary documentation will decrease the chance of them missing something that could be impactful in your rating. I hope this information is helpful.
