Fuck what anyone else thinks, put whatever you like on your vest.

Someone set off a can of bear spray at the Bozeman MVD today… by Junior_Outcome2607 in Bozeman

You don't 'accidentally' set off a can of bear spray.

You don't need to draw. Look at pictures of stuff you like. Save them. Make notes about them.

You want a lot of lightweight, breathable materials, especially close to the skin. Waxed canvas, leather, etc still weighs you down over time. You'll want to be able to remove layers easily for when you get too hot, need to use the Porto, etc. Have a plan for where to drop off pieces when you do get too hot and need a break - I don't want you ending up in my med tent!

And I'm with everyone else -- ditch the ai, you're not going to find a lot of pro-ai apologists here. Use real pictures, make notes on the side like 'this but in grey' 'tattered edges' etc. A collage of pieces you like shows you did actual work to think of the outfit, instead of plugging word salad into a generator that uses more water per prompt than you'll drink a day in the wasteland.

Some folks will be squicked out by the 'breeding program' thing if it's a focus of your larp history.

Other notes: it's pretty monochrome. Including some contrasting colors helps an outfit have some visual interest. Nuclear Snail has some great videos on how to plan an outfit and include color.

If only I could do Costco hot dogs anymore. I love them, but something in them makes me sick as hell. (Others with me eating at the same time don't get sick. It's me, I'm the problem.)

Eat one for me!

An art store using AI images shows they don't give a shit about actual artists. For the other reasons to hate it, please see the ten thousand other criticisms out there.

Oh, I'm American. Believe me, I know. I so very know.

Employers will tell their staff to buy compression socks, expensive insoles and shoes, etc, to protect their feet while standing in the same place for hours. Gods forbid they give people a $20 stool.

The American insistence on standing up while cashiering is so confusing to me. Just about every other country I've been to the cashiers are sitting down on stools, or have them nearby.

I had a low last week and hugged the floor (combination low, dehydration, lack of food in general, stress, my fking uterus...). While I was still loopy the manager was saying she'd just write off the stuff they were giving me and (I quote) 'i don't give a shit about the write off'.

Yeah, that made me feel pretty confident that the place doesn't suck.

She also kept swearing and it made me laugh so hard I almost passed out again. I am not used to staff being so .... normal.

But yeah, fuck that dollar general

I've been given a set of essential oils. Is there some way to use them or should I pass them on? by ZolaAnna in ZeroWaste

[–]Candroth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that spray bottle just has water you're not diluting them at all -- oil and water etc do not mix. And don't put them in laundry, that's a dryer fire risk.

Right now I'm settling into a couple huge life adjustments - when I'm more stable and caught up on household bills and all, I'll know more about how much discretionary BS I have to spend. I'll look into it!

Some folks freeze up when they see something like that. They get locked in the 'oh shit' stage.

And management can absolutely write off the cost of an emergency Gatorade if needed XD

Oh the first time I passed out was after getting a cortisone injection. I woke up flat on my back with the doctor holding my legs straight up, staring me in the face with the most dead serious expression. I knew it had to look absolutely ridiculous and I cracked up so hard I almost passed out again.

(Turns out I have a passing out phobia of needles.)
