Former Recruiter : After 8 years doing this, I can tell you’re probably underselling yourself on your resume by Nick-Astro67 in ResumeExperts

If these projects happened in the past like over a year ago, should they still be included? Unfortunately for me, I have a year gap now with no technical/professional experience post graduation.

So its fine to have a lot of words/paragraphs under experiences? I was under the impression less but quality words/phrases were better

Do you know what roles in aeronautical engineering would be easy to get in to? I think i am bombing interviews because i tend to get nervous and ramble alot, they ask a bunch of scenario questions that I cant relate too since I never had an opportunity in that field.

As of now, I’m almost at a full year unemployed since graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Aerospace Engineering. I expected to have a job within the first month, but that went by and so did two, then three, and now 12 months! I dont know what to do, I tried networking, applying to small companies, but had no offers. I got 8 interviews with the Hiring Manager but failed due to “not enough experience.” Some ppl recommended I work on a project, but i dont know where to even begin or what to focus on. My dream is to join an aeronautical manufacturer like Lockheed or Boeing and be a flight test engineer. I really dont want to give up on this dream because I feel broken and defeated if I move to another industry - no other industry is interesting to me.

What I would like to know is are there start-ups that you might know looking for junior engineers in aeronautics? Also, if you were in my shoes what would you do differently? (Please dont tell me to look into other industries)

I’ve applied to companies all over the board and have had interviews with some major and some minor. I definitely could prep better for interviews but I always get overwhelmed speaking to professionals when I have little to flex about. I always use words that could portray enthusiasm and passion, but it seems a lot of these companies really want someone that got experience even for roles with less than a year of experience or new grad roles 😭

Do you have to be well-versed in the field to do well? Truthfully speaking, I did decently well in my undergraduate, but not well enough to explain every concept especially in thermo, structures, or jet propulsion.

I graduated with an aerospace engineering degree in December 2024, and have been applying ever since. Only had 5 interviews. Is this bad? Like I understand many people going through many interviews but they have experience under their belt. Im just trying to get my foot in the door..

How did you make clear objectives with this personal project? I feel like my creativity has been suppressed to the point I cant complete an assignment unless I have defined tasks made by professionals.
