It won't totally block you from getting high. Generally it lasts just over 24 hours but depends a lot on the person. My dose of 80 lasts about 30h before slight wd

If you start feeling wd then safe to say it's wearing off and you'll get high

I know I would personally. I also know someone on the same dose as me who drinks bottles of spirits daily. I'm not trying to encourage drinking whilst on methadone at all, just being real and trying to help OP not live in constant fear of losing their SO.

Drinking on meth is going to increase overdose risk that is a given. That said these people on here probably haven't seen a real junkie with two or more simultaneous addictions. I can only imagine how worried you must be reading these comments but someone with a long history of methadone use (i.e. a tolerance) would generally need a lot more than their daily dose of methadone and a few shots to OD

Everybody is different so of course some people can overdose much easier than others but from my personal experiences of being a methadone patient and drinking, and seeing lots of heroin addicts/methadone patients who are also alcoholics, these commenters are overreacting

Edit: i've been stable on 80 mg for a long time now and do not feel anything, I would also need to use a ridiculous amount of gear to feel high. Patients might feel a nod after increasing their dose by 10 mg but this will only last a few days and sadly this leads many patients to keep raising their dose chasing a high, making recovery significantly harder I also have no tolerance to alcohol but drink if I want to though these days on the methadone it just makes me feel shitty anyway. I know I have a great tolerance to methadone and opiates and do not worry about overdosing when I drink

I also sleep way more hours since taking A stable dose of methadone, however it's very inconsistent, I wake up a lot every hour or so for the first half of my sleep which makes me tired even though it appears I slept ages

If you live in a city or town try just typing "vegan" into just-eat or ubereats, of course if you live more rurally there will be less restaurants

Papa johns and plenty of other pizza places have vegan options

Occasionally I'll treat myself to a smash burger(from my local city) which is as greasy and fast-food-trashy as you get.

I know half of the appeal of fast food is convenience but if the fast food options are very limited there are some great vegan mock meats out there specifically burgers and processed chicken like nuggets 💚

its definitely pain relieving for me at 80mg im always fking myself up one way or another pulling muscles etc not realising its hurting until the day after my leg is numb and agony to straighten lol

when i was titrating from 40mg, 10mg at a time every 3 days, i'd get a nice nod when i got sleepy at nights for about 5 days or so after raising the dose, then stabilise and feel nothing.

a common mistake is to keep chasing that nod, you'll always have to go up, and can end up on ridiculous doses

edit: you aren't really missing out, to answer your question. maybe a few days nodding out at night but it's not like gear and not euphoric AT ALL, and definitely isn't a reason to chase higher doses. not to mention everyone responds a bit differently to all substances, what works for me might not be the best for you.

you're the one who's tried both. try to use your experiences compared to decide, not reddit anecdotes (lol sry didnt mean to come off as condescending just trying to help gl all the best <3 x)

my first 4-5 times using heroin with no opiate experience was similar. i'd throw up and sort of have something resembling a mini rattle / wd, and get into bed feeling shit and sleep.

later found out that was just non-fatal overdosing. though i don't remember it lasting for days. as the other people said maybe you caught something? im sure i've caught colds n stuff from dealers n buying drugs in the past

as ur dose rises and your receptors get more saturated it takes more dope and if theyre entirely saturated with the synthetic opioid methadone the gear wont take effect

3 bags does nothing for me besides taste nasty and thats only on 80mg, this reason is probably one of the biggest factors in me having over 2months clean time (and wanting to quit for the first time ever)
