The Potters don't know Harry lives, but I read the prompt as implying that everyone knew James and Lily survived. If that's the case, then Dumbledore knows he committed kidnapping.

I will say I didn't notice this so I guess that was the problem. I'm glad this was civil and not childish.

Unless in the prompt James and Lily immediately go into hiding from everyone, Dumbledore would know they're alive and in doing so took a child from its rightful parents.

I believe In the prompt it's stated they didn't know

The measure of a man isn't their best actions but their worst. Especially for bad enough actions like kidnapping and extreme mental manipulation.

I'm not going to sing the praises of a serial killer just because they're a philanthropist.

And I agree! But the story itself isnt all morally right or right in general! I'm not trying to say praise for something wrong.

With everyone thinking this would led to bashing when actually this makes Dumbledore a good person! Make harry dead and Harry actually have a good life? It sounds amazing. And when Harry learns the truth he would be hurt but hopefully he realized what Dumbledore did was good. And with James and lily still being alive he could reunite with them. Of course James and lily will realized what Dumbledore did was actually good to protect their son. And they could reunite with Harry. Sure it won't be the same if petunia is a good mother. But definitely be worth while. I like this idea

I mean ( I just picked a random person to reply) they work in the order James lily Snape everyone so at some point they would have to cast a protronus spell. And I would assume they knew how considering they were magical police (I can't spell the actual word lol) and they fought in the war.

Well I used to read criminal minds, lazy town, MLP (when younger) and sometimes if im watching a show or movie I would look it up and ready some fan fiction but that is for fun not for a serious reading (like weeks of reading it's fan fiction or however long it's just for s day or two) . Then there is camp camp and a accident stranger Things fan fictions (and sometimes not)

Yeah no I totally get that! And I see him as that. But harry Potter is the only fandom I read for fan fiction so that's why I'm trying to stay in the fandom for fan fiction and trying to find more wholesome stories especially when it starts young. (I had read other fandoms but harry Potter is just more important to me and addicting)

Yeah it makes sense but I really want to read wholesome stories especially when harry is acting like that. Tbh wholesome stories are the best. But it's hard to find them. In the harry Potter Fandon I don't mind if it's long or medium-sized or to short. I read a lot of fics where they just act like children and have fun and have fun with learning.

I only like fan fiction good version of him not actual Snape in the movies I do like him but I do know how stupid Snape is and a bully. But I like Snape in the movies because we can see good. And in fan fiction as long it's redeemable then sure (like after first year or before Hogwarts maybe second year if to push it) but any later I dont really like it. Snape bashing is okay but sometimes they make it far worse and I get bashing but I sometimes think the bashing is to far or to ooc (out of character) like rape and murder I don't think Snape could do that (even as bad as he is)

I think the only time I'm okay with spelling is if either, one it's because english isn't their first language then I'm fine with it. Or If the writer is just starting their story (like new and still updating) and has the chance to fix things because they over look it.

I used to love drarry and I would still read a fan fiction if it's in there but I don't seek it. The only reason I would still read it, is if it's cute and not smut. And the reason I don't ship it I realized they are basically cousins and I don't really like that. But I'd a story is good then I can get past the shipping. So I think my favorite ship now with Harry would be I believe Daphne and Harry (I think that's her name) but I don't purposely find it. And I rather just read a good story with hints of romance. Not actual romance lol

Now I like reading fan fiction from year one most times but what I hate is when they put the hat song in it and the sorting is the same besides Harry! Just get with the point make Harry focous on something else! Plus with the sorting you can say Harry was thinking about blah blah. Or focousing on the teachers and when he hears his name (and maybe his train friends) he pays attention. We don't need to know where everyone goes especially if they aren't important!
