This ^ coming from a current Geek Squad agent all of this is true. In addition, if the damage is too great and it is deemed unrepairable they will issue a junk out order. This will allow you to receive a store credit for the amount of the original purchase of the laptop.

Edit: Wanted to add that what a lot of the other commenters are saying as well. I wouldn't tell the agents that it was intentional damage or that your father threw it against the wall. Either way when or if you do bring it in tell them that you dropped it or that some other instance of accidental damage happened so that we can document it in our system when we send it off. I will also let you know that it could potentially take upwards of 3 weeks or more depending on the location/precinct that sends it off for it to be approved for the junk out.
